Default When is a "Newbie" no longer a "Newbie"?

I'm new to the hobby (started 3 weeks ago). I just completed my 2nd Provider session. I have written 2 reviews. When do I shed my "Newbie" status?

Three weeks and riding in the fast lane, hmmm? Welcome! Well, I might not exactly consider you a newbie anymore with 2 reviews IF they were of ESTABLISHED providers, but I'm not from SA and don't know either lady, and so far the only feedback you've gotten is from a mod with suggestions to include more info and details. Get more involved with posting and tap out another review or two, and when you start getting comments from other ECCIE members, you will have established some cred.

Don't rush to call yourself "experienced." There's a lot to learn and many pitfalls to avoid, and only time, research, trial, and error will gain you that knowledge. Irish luck in lust, darlin.

Well I have nine reviews, been on the board over a year and was declined by a provider because I don't have enough references. I guess it takes awhile.

It may take that long for one, particular provider. But that is not the norm. Move on to the next one.

Don't think there is any set time period . See a few newbie friendly providers for refs , then try one that isn't , get a couple of those under your belt , and you'll be better off . More doors will open eventually . Participate more on the boards , and schedule some appts , and review .

Cool Interesting question...

I think you are off to a good start. I've been in the game for several years and I still think of myself as a newbie compared to a lot of the active members. And I have verification issues from time to time as well. The advice from the legendary FootLong is quite good, move to the next one. It isn't really a reflection on you.

It depends on the providers and who your references are. I dont have any reviews but have good and current references. Remember this is not a race just move on to the next provider. Good luck

Excellent advice from the gents. Every lady has her own criteria, but for the most part, reviews and how long you've been an active Hobbyist are not really as important to most of us providers as a couple of good, solid, recent references. Helps if you're also courteous and discreet when contacting us, and providing your references right off the bat would be a good icebreaker. When I get those, "Hey, you free?" texts, pm's, or emails, respond politely with my availability, and then receive a "Let's get it on at 2p.m., baby" with no other preface and have to PRY screening info out of the fellow, it tends to put him on the bottom of my guest list in favor of someone who contacts me in a more appropriate fashion.

The one gal who turned down bigplay sounds a little on the paranoid side, or she may have read or something was said to her that she didn't like, and that was her excuse of convenience. Her loss, the next lady's gain -- or pain. It's all relative. Just have fun!

If you have to ask that question...

Then you are still a newb.

Just messing with ya. I don't think that there is a clear answer for your question. There is no real authority to matriculate you out of newbie status.

Just post and continue writing reviews. Before you know it, you'll no longer be a newb.

Fancyinheels makes excellent points. Remember all reviews and references are not created equal.

Spa or BP refs are not going to mean much.
Newbie providers' refs are not going to mean much.

"Established" provider refs are worth gold, but - you may need more than 2, because if the girl of your dreams cannot get ahold of the refs, it's like not having refs.

Also, p411 works wonders.

It can be helpful if you see an "established" provider who is newbie friendly. To know who is 'established' requires a lot of reading here, so dig in.

get preferred 411, that'll help shed your newbie status.

also keep in mind that providers won't automatically say yes to once you lose your n00b status, some of them still won't entertain you. while every now and then an established provider will give you a chance even if you are a n00b, when I first started here one provider did and I have been very grateful and I have returned the favor with my own loyalty.

like bamatide said, if one doesnt agree to see you, move on, you'll find someone who's a can of whoop ass.

and of course a big thank you to the ladies who gave a n00b a chance.

Some ladies will have alternate screening methods if you have no references.

I will be forever noob-like because I don't like to kiss and tell, so I'd rather not tell provider #3 that I've seen #1 and 2.

But I tend to remain faithful to #1 and 2 (a little variety), so don't really have a need to get screened over and over.

Texas2stepper- P411 is the best way to go, as savak mention. Also all ladies are different in this type of situation. Some might require a bit wee more references. That's there requirement to keep safe. ;-)

One thing I haven't seen mentioned that I also think is important and that has been very helpful for me: once you have a good rapport established with two verified providers, ask for them to vouch you on to the invite list for the social mixers. Nothing beats face time in a neutral setting to establish a comfort level and get you a quick and positive response to an appointment request.
