Is Valentine's Day Different For You?

I had envisioned this question mostly for providers but guys feel free to chime in, as well.

For providers, I was curious if this day of mass marketed romantic expectations is different for you from a business prospective. Are you booked more or less? Are there any unusual requests? Are encounters different in general and how so?

For guys that want to participate, does the hobby take a backseat or is there a special provider/service that this day inspires you to seek?

For me, this isn't necessarily hobby related, but I struggle to manage the expectations of the people around me while trying to keep my inherent cynicism about the commercialism of this day from ruining there's. Also, artisan cupcakes are ruining my waistline and, quite possibly, the fabric of this country...we need a vice division to eliminate those evil things.

I understand on a logical level that Valentine's could also be called Commercial Confectionery, Greeting Card, Restaurant, and Florist Promotional Opportunity Day, but still didn't keep me from enjoying roses, chocolates, wine, whiskey, and a romantic candlelight dinner tonight with a fine fellow who truly seemed to appreciate my companionship.

Nothing wrong with expressing a wee bit of sentiment and doing something nice as long as it's honest and not just for show. Statistically speaking, I do get more requests for multi-hour evening carnal commitments this week than usual, and I'm delighted to indulge mutual amorous appreciation as dessert.

I agree with you on the cupcakes. Betty Crocker and her cohort Duncan Hines should also be arrested for breaking diets!

Thank you for your reply, Fancy; eloquent, as always. I suppose having a day designated to remind us to show those we care about a bit more attention isn't such a bad thing. We often forget that these connections we have to others can be fragile if not tended to on occasion.
