Should Obama Pardon Edward Snowden?
And, will he?
And, can he, actually?

And why is this in Coed? Did Snowden see ho, then?
Sandbox litter.
As far as the topic goes, I'm sure some have been pardoned for worse. I believe Obama has the executive authority to do so, although I imagine Congress and the Military would scream to high heaven and the planet Uranus. Rather depends on whether we, the people, view the fellow as hero, spy, traitor, whistleblower, dangerous, or merely misguided, and if the outgoing President values that opinion. Since I'm not sure there's a definitive public consensus one way or the other, pretty difficult decision, and time is short. Trump stomps in Friday, and will line up a firing squad.

He just pardoned the woman that leaked a lot of it to Snowden. But Snowden leaked stuff that contributed to Hilary's defeat. So no, Blowbama will not pardon him, especially since he is being harbored by the despicable Vladimir Putin, Donald Trumps alleged buddy.
To me, politics is grown adults with money and power acting like three year olds. And it's on both sides of the fence and across both oceans.

the he/she leaked .stole military and diplomatic information including operatives in Afghanistan, Iraq on other places.
Snowden revealed what and how the US government was spying on it's own citizens without probable cause or a warrant. The unfortunate part of that release was that it allowed some people that we would have rather not let know how they were doing it.

Uh... you have to be convicted and sentenced to be pardoned. He is only wanted.
He did breach protocol. and violate law.. but to expose the scum. He is guilty, but time served. ijs
Cheers

Are you sure you are not getting Edward Snowden and Julian Assange mixed up?
(BTW: Russian just extended Snowdens asylum to 2020.)

Yes, no, and yes imo.
I thought about your point Sig. But Nixon was pardoned by Ford, and Nixon hadn't been convicted of anything. So couldn't Obama absolve Snowden of future prosecution?
Snowden toftt. Obama knows that as well as I do. He should do the right thing and pardon the sorry bastard. Will he? No. I'm not sure why though. It's not that he's afraid to make tough calls. Going after Bin Laden with Seal Team 6 was a tough call. Just ask Jimmy Carter how those things can work out.
Assange is a different animal. He can rot in hell for all I care. No morals, no principles, no compass. Just a publicity whore.
