Honestly never heard of it. When I worked out, I did the McKenzie exercises. Also used the foam roller on my back. That felt really good!

I have some distance runner friends who swear by it. Your body is exposed to -240 degrees F temp for 3 min or something like that. I've always wondered what the shrinkage factor is

Not liquid nitrogen, but nitrogen cooled air, down to -200f.
Here's what I got from the Forbes article:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee.../#98da6141334e
Basically, it appears to be the current fad used by celebrities and athletes. Name dropper moment: Kobe, LeBron, Demi, Jennifer A. etc. etc... No scientific value but it makes you feel good by releasing endorphins, done by shocking your system. Not to mention the recent death of a 24yr old lady in a Las Vegas spa Oct last year.
I'm calling Bullshit on this one.

What Are The Cold, Hard Facts On Cryotherapy?
A closer look shows that many of these claims are not yet grounded in credible scientific evidence...
Most of the existing (albeit limited) evidence focuses around the effects of WBC on musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Health professionals have used WBC to relieve pain and inflammation from conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, ankylosing spondylitis and injuries. However, a recently published systematic review of the literature did not find compelling scientific evidence that WBC is effective in preventing and treating muscle soreness after exercise in adults. Without nearly enough scientific evidence, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet approved WBC as a medical treatment.

Had a guy make me sit in an ice bath when I was a newbie provider, then lie on the bed perfectly still in a dark room under a white sheet with a toe tag and not make a sound. Does that count?
( Never again. )

Sounds like a bullshit fad
Liquid nitrogen boils at about -320F. Seems like a good waste of the liquid nitrogen to me.

There's actually people that when they die they inject themselves with liquid nitrogen hoping that one day science will allow them to be reanimated back to life.
