Is The Hobby in a Bear Market?
Provider ads seem to be down and reviews across all categories seem to be down. Is the price of oil and/or the general economy affecting the hobby market?

Yes....it is affecting most markets in houston.
My source is the prayer request list in my sunday school class.
Everybody in sales of anything including household goods is looking for improvement.

I'd like to hear what the ladies think; fucktards are not the best indicator since pussy is always available. But has business across a broad spectrum of providers gone down over the past few months? Need a large sample pool because the flavor(s) of the month aren't indicative of the market as a whole either.

300 across the board (including asians ... wtf???) with some shorties charging 400 sure doesn't indicate it. Slow times should dictate lower prices, I think ...

Or at least the perception of one. The answer lies in if the demand levesl are the same or more given that increase. Good luck finding a provider candid, knowledgeable or interested in telling us about that.

In the Strip club threads there seems to be a standard complaint about high charging for extras.

Don't forget the hooker math/mentality. Instead of lowering prices to up the volume and net more income, they just figure they will charge more. Remember these are not the sharpest tools in the shed. The smart ones are like my first ex. She put up with my ass for 18 years and now is getting her bills paid via alimony.

Some of us don't want to up the volume. More is not necessarily better. Wouldn't you rather visit someone who isn't rushed, tired, or frazzled because she has to see more people to make the same money? This business has a lot more to consider than regular retail economics. There are emotional and physical components that will always have to be figured in.
I raised my rates about 25% late last year (from $200 to $250 an hour, $300 to $350 for 2 hours, which hardly puts me in the "high-priced" category, but more than some, granted) in anticipation of the approximate 35% increase in the cost of doing business. The bill for my incall took a big surge as taxes on rental property in Houston climbed 26%, and landlords passed that on, believe me, plus my associated insurance (apartment and health, and yes, you want a gal like me to have frequent check-ups, more than a "civvie" girlfriend) and utilities (particularly cable and Internet, which my apartment chooses, not I) went up a substantial amount. Hey, talking about "extras," even Jameson and Guinness cost more. None of my regulars complained as they were "grandfancied," but I knew I was taking a risk alienating prospective new clients. However, there's an old perception that you get what you pay for, that quality costs more. This biz has a psychology. Certain price points attract a better clientele BECAUSE these gentlemen want to be entertained by a lower-volume provider. A dip below that level, combined with the type of adverting a lady does and in what venue, may have a radical effect on the kind of fellow who calls.
Many ladies have seen some slow times this year due to a variety of factors: drop in our oil-based economy; tax time; more competition by new flavors of the month; LE and media focus on the Hobby; higher cost of living. The tide ebbs and flows, and we must all ride with it. I know you lusty lads deserve reasonable donations and specials, but some of you talk like you're expecting ladies to slash their prices like a bargain basement store. That isn't realistic. Will just get you a harried hooker.
Personally, I'm having a wonderful month because there is so much to do this time of year, festivals, concerts, yada, yada. Fancy Field Trip, anyone?

Some fucktards shop at Ross for hooktards.
Fancy can overcome the valleys of hobby income with her secondary income stream ... Irish Chihuahua burrito truck.
