All you're going to get is a cheapskate client that's going to try stay way past his time. If he does try to see the lady later, he'll try to get an even lower price. If he does give her a referral, it will be to his other cheapskate friends who also try to rock bottom prices. Soon, everyone will want the rock bottom prices. That is why most providers tell the cheapskate hagglers to fuck off.

Well, heck, perhaps there was a misunderstanding, CB? I had an appointment with BCL scheduled for Thursday night but had to cancel my entire week since I'm home with strep throat and a 102.8 fever until at least Friday. (Just got back from the doctor who shot me full of penicillin with an injector that looked liked it should baste turkeys. OUCH.) I pre-screened him, made arrangements, no problem, no haggling, and he's been very understanding about my illness.
Sometimes there's miscommunication between 2 people and things just roll downhill from there like a snowball turning into an avalanche.
I'm going back to bed now and pulling up a blanket of chihuahuas. Who frickin' gets STREP in the #@&%* summer? I obviously need to up my daily quota of Jameson for medicinal purposes.

You can't fix stupid...
I was contacted by him and had similar trysts on two separate occasions.
That being said, I don't think something of this nature should be vented in Co-ed. If a gentleman rubs you the wrong way initially, misunderstanding or not, it's better to just sever the communication. It's my opinion that future interactions have been tainted by ill will.
Also it's really for hard for anyone to haggle all by themselves. ^__^
(Now if we can get this into the ladies room, then it's game on... )
The actions and attitude that CB describe fall in line with my own experience, but to hear that things kicked off perfectly between a lady of fancy's caliber may indicate that he's a decent guy who is one of thousands who have a preconceived notion of what ebony experiences are worth.
I'm sorry that things didn't work out, but I know you have a gaggle of gentlemen who know and understand your worth. To have a tall bubbly glass of you, anyone should be so lucky!
***
To the incomparable Fancy, I hope you get well soon. If it makes you feel any better, I usually catch pneumonia in the summer. ^__^

Don't listen to people who tell you to accept lower rates due to color. They have given up. Raise your rates. Though maybe not to 700 lol. (Full disclosure - I am not a client )

..........................
{Fancy--hugs!}
I personally know him and have known him couple years...I have NEVER had a problem with him and he has been a great client to me.................and I have always given him great references from my experiences with him......BUT....... as all yall know, the hobbyists as well as the provider may be YMMV......there may have been a misunderstanding between the two and that is their "deal" to work out.

If you post ads three weeks in a row advertising a "special" rate don't get bent out of shape when someone gets confused or thinks the "special" still applies.

^^ Good point..... seems to me, if you continue to post "specials" you are telling hobbyist your rates are in fact subject to negotiation....... your timing as to WHEN you decided to post is more intriguing then the Why......

Not always. I have had good clients being referred to me by not so good clients. At times the cheap ones lie and don't reveal that they are cheap skates as others brag about it. It varies. The minute you start stereotyping and think you have it all figured out , is when you start losing sales. Further more when you don't have a good client base, you have to pay the bills with cheap skates. That was the whole point. Once you are doing better, then you can afford to be selective.
As for meaningful impact , I sadly agree with you but that never stops me from trying. There is always a glimmer of hope for the inexperienced. Some chose to stay where they are or go backwards. At least you can say you tried and it is not because they don't know any better because someone did tell them.
I am an optimist but not hopelessly.

I am curious ... CB what would your rate be for a tainted adventure with one with 1.3" of dangling death? Oh, and you do not have to call be Daddy, just call me Uncle Taint.

Maybe by the inch, but I think a fair way would be to count "stokes to completion". The provider could count out loud giving the mathematically inclined an ongoing $$ Total. The hobbyist, knowing their typical level of performance to completion, could determine a fair "stroke" fee. This would eliminate the "are you almost finished" whine. "Don't stop now" would be the new provider mantra.

Ditto.
I opened it thinking that CB might be "testing the waters" for an augmentation.
