Sadly, ECCIE isn't that big in STL (though I like to think that the guys worth knowing hang out here. Then again, I hang out here, so obviously some real assholes can be found here, too).
Since I'm only an occasional visitor to STL (I'm a native, and I still have family and friends there), and now pretty much retired from the hobby owing to lack of spondulix, I troll here more for amusement than anything else. I know of one board which seems to be based in STL, and which has been discussed here a fair amount, but rarely in a positive light (I will decline to mention its name, since there seems to be an established, permanent, floating flamewar surrounding it whenever it is mentioned). A couple local-to-STL boards have, sadly, gone the way of the great auk, the dodo, the Tasmanian tiger, and the passenger pigeon.
Hope one of the locals gives you a good recommendation, and hope you have a good visit to St. Louis (or as I like to call it, "Paradise on the Mississippi"
).
