Default Should I change/update my name?

So I picked my name, TheAlpha210, when I was brand new...I am thinking it needs an update of some sort....maybe.

I would like to have a website and do some more marketing...but not so sure that the name will give the right impression.

Just wondering what your thoughts are? Any/all recommendations are welcome.

I wouldn't, it's a good handle!

I say No. I think the name, the icon and explanation of alpha, all work together well. To change the name from "Alpha", I don't see why you should. For working in the state of Texas, I think leaving the 210 is fine. If you were advertising nationally, I think it works as well and indicates Texas provider, not a bad thing. Those are my thoughts.

You have a unique name amongst your peers, that is for sure. It is kind of cool, and is appreciated no doubt by the large contingent of geeks on this site.

On the other hand, the term "alpha", in the sense you define it, came to prominence when referring to the "alpha male" in a group of gorillas. So I dare say most people do not associate the term with a female on first hearing. If you do decide to change it, perhaps something more clearly indicating your femininity would be good.

If you are going to do 'more marketing', consider your audience. Are you planning to take your show on the road? You are right to consider what 'impression' you will present, and your handle/name is the First Impression.

Wow that was FAST! Thank u for the input. :-)

Would anyone suggest dropping the "The" and replacing with Ms. Mz. Miss or Mistress?

Mz, Ms, Miss or Mistress just make it sound more generic. Having "The" in there makes it more intriguing to click on, it separates you from the pack. Just look at how many names out there start with Mz, Ms, Miss or Mistress. It makes your name more memorable, it stands out better. Cheers

From a grammatical standpoint the use of the article "the" implies a singular and distinct entity that can be easily identified as opposed to using "a/an". To me, even though I have never seen you, this adds a level of distinctiveness as opposed to using a Ms. or Mistress or Miss which only truly identifies that you are indeed a female which should be clear to any fool looking at your pictures. My $0.02.

I completely agree plus the mistress makes it sound more like you are a Dominatrix which you could end up gettting you a lot of... let's just say different requests.

I have always liked your handle it is very unique and the "the" makes it sound like you are one of a kind and from what I have heard from plenty of gents (and some of the ladies) you are definitely that.

thanks for chiming in! I appreciate that. and i agree....i'm not a dom kind of girl so I dont want to confuse anyone. I am now thinking I will just capitalize and drop the 210. so it would be: The Alpha

Thoughts?

Brand identification is an important asset, which most corporations guard jealously,Coke,Ford,Kraft, etc. ,etc.,...... Personally I think you should leave it as is,it has served you well. JMO.
