I almost feel guilty being with the naysayers on here but I often interpret that to mean, Hey ... here is another way to try to get an appointment.

For many ladies, they're willing to do things extra but not particularly enthusiastic.

It varies with the individual. After screening, just tell her what you're interested in. Or better yet, ask her where her interests are. If she's like me, she might not give you a direct answer because of MY marketing strategy.

However, if she's just throwing ideas out there, she might answer the question in a way that you'll find very revealing. And it might answer your own question.

It is a marketing ploy by un-savvy providers trying to distinguish themselves from other providers. As Elizabeth mentioned, it is acts in which the lady will participate but not willingly or enthusiastically-- i.e. expect an upsell for the fetish. Also, I agree that you need to know what is on her menu or what she considers non-fetish activities. Some may consider a BBBJCIM as a fetish. Some may consider MSOG a fetish. I usually take it a step further and actually see the lady for a regular session, then if I want to see her again I'll ask about any extras or fetishes she does. That we both know each other a bit and know if we want to try something less vanilla.

That's the BEST way to do it IMO. Spice-is-nice did this with me when we first got together. We did a GFE session the first time, and at the end we had great conversation which organically drifted to ANOTHER REALM type of discussion. Its been over a year and a half of splendid exploration with him, which has taken both of us to places we never imagined. I mention him in particular because we are open on the board about our playtime. I agree completely with you Lovely Lady, During my active times I can honestly say that those who were of the "fetish" persuasion were well versed in the polite way of inquiring about those areas.
Though the discussion of "fetishes" is a tad more "open" now days, many of the ones you mentioned are still very taboo and scary for the average hobby person.
And the ones whom I did wander off into the dark corners of their imagination with always arranged a more casual meeting first.
You just never know if someone is going to "smell" just right until you meet the first time.
