Gay people need to start sticking up for themselves and fight back. Maybe these bigots would stfu if they knew there would be consequences. If that server would have said fuck their job and confronted these people and all other servers did the same I don't think we'd have this problem. I'll go out on a limb here, but it's the absolute truth as I see it. Whites are generally the least overtly racist and bigoted people out there. You know why? They are scared shitless of being publicly painted with that brush. So much so, that their deference to others often leads them to getting themselves into trouble because they don't listen to their gut when it tells them to get the fuck out of a situation. They don't want to be thought of as "racist" and cross the street when a mob of thugs walk their way. So they cooly walk down the street until they are robbed and stomped to death.

I don't think all anti gay accusations are all bullshit (this may be). Intelligence boils down to being able to understand all perspectives even if one is not in agreement. I really question the intelligence level of any true racist or bigot. I also think that deep down most people are good and will do good when they have the chance.

That receipt they are saying they gave the tip on is not the billable receipt, its the customer copy, for your records. There is just as much of a chance, that they did write that in the servers tip receipt, then when they saw the backlash, they wrote that on their own receipt. So its Bullshit.

How many of us write the tip on the receipt we take with us, unless its for business?

Also, the as for the credit card bill. The restaurants set what the pending charge will be when they swipe a card. 20%is common to be sure it clears for available funds, before the customer adds the tip. So having a credit card bill showing a pending charge doesn't prove anything.

I dont know what happened here, and she might be full of shit, but there are holes all over that story, both ways.

She could have a bigger problem. A typical enlistment is for six years. Four active and two inactive reserve. If she is inside that two year window, and it looks like she is, then the USMC could recall her to active duty to answer to the lies she told about combat duty. They don't care about the tip but the Corps does care about people lying about their service. I've seen it happen for less in the Navy.
