WSJ on the militarization of the police
Even the Wall Street Journal is against all the SWAT teams:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...LEFTTopStories
Forget all the state and local SWAT teams.
Just look at the federal agencies that have SWAT teams:
-----------------------------------------------------
"A number of federal agencies also now have their own SWAT teams, including the Fish & Wildlife Service, NASA, the Consumer Products Safety Commission and the Department of the Interior. In 2011, the Department of Education's SWAT team bungled a raid on a woman who was initially reported to be under investigation for not paying her student loans, though the agency later said she was suspected of defrauding the federal student loan program."
---------------------------------------------------------
SERIOUSLY??!?!
NASA has a SWAT team?
AND the Consumer Product Safety Commission? For what do they need one?

This is something we need a "national conversation" about...
You never know when Yogi is going to show up with an extended clip AR-15.

A couple of things.
Not a single link to a single study he uses as bonafides for his position.
The best one though was the Los Angles Police not being able to effectively respond to the riots in Watts for the lack of a SWAT team.
If only they had 50 more cops in body armor.
That would have stopped those riots.
Not.

I find it hard to believe that the Dept. of Education has or needs a SWAT team.
Also,

Perhaps the officers had just seen "Kung-fu Panda", and were worried that the monks might kick the shit out of them.
(Yes, I know the timing is off.)

Things have changed a lot since the 70s. OKC is a hotbed of drug and sex trafficking. I guess this journalist in his protected ivory tower would disarm the police. I have had it with these liberal fuckers who have created the shit that exists today. These politically correct little perverts have too loud a voice. I hope a fucking drug dealing Gangsta moves in next door to his whimpy ass. Don't call the police, call a liberal because this is a situation of your own making.

Liberal fuckers?? Just where is the "liberal" media? The majority of media is over 95% controlled by Republicans. It is because of fear mongering and companies willing to push money over morals.
I know. I paid out checks to Michelin for the rubber trees we destroyed in Vietnam. Got to $50.00 a tree when I left in 73. Sitting in a crappy ass building in Saigon, that was half controlled by the North and the other half leftover from the french doing heroin trading. B-girls were the only benefits.
It has and has always been about the benjamins. U people have no clue about the real world.
I am not sure why having a swat team for less than 1% of criminals having military weapons is worth our tax dollar. Oh I forgot you have been sold on fear. The companies selling to the government are overjoyed. Money Money Money

There was a movie called "The President's Analyst" with James Coburn and William Daniels. Daniels plays a "proud liberal" but not one of those pinkos you hear about. He is down with all the liberal concerns. He also has a car gun, a house gun, and a business gun. This liberal says that he will give up his gun when they (whoever that is) force the right wing to give up their guns. Take them away if they have to and he will happily disarm. Spoiler alert: The phone company did it and they are not even human.

I guess it wasn't a liberal who pasted a picture of a 12 year old Travon Martin all over the papers instead of a picture of the 17 year old thug, Excuse me I must have been wrong. Them damn Fear Mongers at work again. We don't really have a drug problem and there are no street gangs. These are just misunderstood boys. They dismembered Carina Sanders, but there is no reason to bust down their door. Lets try to reason with them. I know, maybe we could have a big picnic.
