Negativity

I've been a member for a while and I'm baffled as to the reasons behind the overall increase in negativity on this board.
Threads straight out insulting fellow hobbyists, threads insulting providers, thread comments which are simply personal attacks thinly disguised as "witty insight" - this is creating a very dark atmosphere.

There is a simple fact that alot of posters on this board seem to have forgotten - Sex is meant to fun.

All these negativity threads and comments achieve is painting the Kansas City hobby scene in a negativity light and tarnish the reputation of the fun, respectful and courteous hobbyists on this board by association.
Just my humble opinion but I feel like a few very vocal and negative posters/hobbyists are hijacking this board, turning it into a place to attack others to make themselves feel better and give them a consequence free place to spew vitriol against fellow hobbyists but more disturbingly verbally attack providers.

While there are some that get an ego boost from arbitarily pointing out other peoples flaws in their posts/opinions etc, this really just equates to schoolyard bullying and makes for very uninteresting reading.

Two rules one must ALWAYS remember:

1) Hobbyists are real men with real lives, real personal issues and real feelings/emotions. If you don't agree with another's opinions/thoughts etc that is fine, but is no reason to turn your disagreement into personal public attacks.

2) Providers are real women with real lives and real feelings/emotions. Like every other woman, they deserve nothing but courtesy and respect.

Overall courtesy and respect towards your fellow man is severely lacking on this board these days. I first joined this board because it seemed to be a place to identify and communicate with potential providers that would met a hobbyists tastes/fantasies and allow both hobbyists and providers alike to share insights into the scene, pose hobby related questions and be a fun place to learn new things and communicate with new people. IMO this is being lost.

Given the current atmosphere on this board, I can see why some providers are thinking twice about their involvement with this board and this city, and frankly I am as well. Sex is fun - the negativity being displayed on this board daily would suggest otherwise. To me that's sad.

Personally I think it is the 'fight club' mentality spewing out onto the open board.

When I first joined this would never had been tolerated by Mods like Bubba, Omaha and a few others in my opinion.

This board does have rules about making personal attacks, but for some reason the rules are not being enforced. It's been said that St. C wants to have a hands off approach, which is fine to an extent, but there are some people on here that are just down right nasty.

It's real simple. If someone makes a personal attack they get points. If they make enough personal attacks they get banned. Eventually people will learn to play by the rules.

While it may seem that there has been an increase in squabbles, the reality is there is no more happening now than there has been in the past. The only difference there might be is that there is more outspokeness, towards the providers then their probably has been in the past. But hobbyist to hobbyist, that hasnt changed.

I'm just finding myself posting less and less.. I always say I will never be run off but I just find looking at this site less useful and more ranting and banter. Everybody has somebody who hates them it's so stupid this is not a real life discussion it's a Internet board. It's not that serious to get all crazy ya know

I am probably one of those you refer to and that notwithstanding, your points are well taken and you have taken the time to share them in a well thought out post.

Going foward the one problem I see is that sometimes...well sometimes it's hard not to be sarcastic...

I'll endeavor to be more positive and I must agree that Sex is still FUN......!!!!!!!!

I certainly think there is negativity right now than normal. It always comes and goes, but right now it is coming like a submariner back from a few months at sea.

It certainly is hard not to be sarcastic sometimes. Some people make it harder to resist admittingly. I would tell you to imagine a provider shocking you every time you want to be sarcastic, but that might be a stimulus and get the wrong results. You never know what everyone's kink level is like here. I plan on getting laid tonight and I hope everyone else does too.

Mal, you have always been just a little on the sarcastic side.. but negative, not so much.

I have to say that all of the resent negativity has been rubbing off on some that are not normally so negative.

And as someone did try to point out.. two negatives do not make a positive.
(Yes bigryan - it took sometime for what you were trying to say to sink in, but it did.)

But when two positives get to gather... watch out.
After having a very positive lunch date today... no amount of negativity is going to erase that.
The only negative is that I can not write a review and therefore any info I might have has been deemed irrelevant by some.
