So how do you handle rumors???

I know everyone has at least ONE out there about them...So what do you do when you hear something about YOU or someone you know in the business?

I usually ignore the rumor as they usually aren't worth much. Too often they get you in more trouble than if you ignore them.

Rumors - or gossip - are almost never productive and usually end up causing folks who should be getting along - to end up at odds with one another. Maybe that's why they use to place persistent gossips in the stocks and throw rotten veggies (and worse) at them. Personally, I try to ignore the rumors and do my own research. If I've met the person who is the target of the rumors, I rely on my impression of the person - not someone else's self-serving accusations. If I haven't met them I try to keep an open mind. One things for certain: the person who started, or is otherwise promoting the rumor loses some degree of my respect.

Rumors are part of this business. You can choose to believe them or let them go in one ear and out the other. It all depends on who the rumor is coming from and your level of trust in that person.

Two years ago I had a provider telling guys that I had been busted. Too bad for her that I had actual proof on the board that I hadn't been busted the evening she claimed I was. I addressed it with her, she believed her own lies and then I had addressed it with the board because some guys who gave me a heads up on the rumor were from the board. After that, I couldn't care less about the rumor or the chick who started it.

I hear rumors/stories all the time from guys, but I take it with a grain of salt. If I believed every story a client told me, I'd be out of this business because every chick is doing BBFS and giving HUGE HUGE discounts.

If a hobbyist starts talking about another provider, I change the subject and tell them nicely that I do not talk about other people in the business, providers or hobbyist.
Providers talking about providers/hobbyist, If it did happen (I have made it a point not to meet any of them in person until tonight, to much drama) I would tell them the same thing.

I really don't understand why any hobbyist would start or even talk about rumors. Isn't that why we do what we do, so that that there is no drama? I appreciate all providers for the service and fun they provide.

To all the gossip starters and spreaders: If you didn't see it with your own eyes, hear it with your own ears, don't create it in your small mind and spread it with your big mouth.

However if you choose to create and spread rumors about me I am glad you took time out of your pathetic life to think about me!

(Of course the exception to this is if you want to spread around I can lick my eyebrows and have to stretch an extra large condom to fit!)
