Meningitis Outbreak

Hello everyone, just got a call from, mom, on CNN there is talk about meningitis outbreak. I read the news article, from google search, and, I am not really sure, that I totally understand this article, but, I wanted to post this link, maybe someone one can clarify, and, if this is meningitis can spread easily from person to person, we have heads up to stay safe and healthy...http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/04/health...ure/index.html

The only one I know of is from faulty pain medicine injected into the spines of people with backaches. Must have been a serious contamination problem at the pharmacy/clinic where the meds were mixed.

Apparently there was an outbreak last year. Universities are now required to have students vaccinated before they are allowed to enroll.

I believe it was steroid shots for the back that were infected with different strains of fungi...pretty scary when you think about it.

You are right. The fungi was injected directly into the spinal fluid. Doubtful that this will spread from person to person.

I honestly find it hard to believe that even though the FDA does not have oversight with reference to monitoring the industry that manufactures its own drugs for distribution ==> that NO ONE IN OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DID NOT call for a mandatory cessation of using this injection.

MDs, DOs and RNs have responsibility too ethically.

Hell - they did it for the infamous "pink slime" that hamburger patty makers were placing in our meat which "cooked itself" healthy when used...

Get off your asses Washington (Congress does not have to be in session and you guys direct the CDC) and do something right for a change or use your cloney Federal Judges to stop this possible medically induced massacre of our compromised citizens!!!!

they are referring to a steroid shot that was given to a large number of people... the steroid had a "fungus" in the steroid ... it is not of the contagious type of meningitis

Drs will kill ya! I've lost my faith in the medical system! These "shots" they want us to take are loaded with so much harmful things its worse than the actual sickness lol
