Morning coffee
I talked to a couple of veterans this morning and I was truly blessed by their willingness to discuss their experiences in their various campaigns. One common thread was that they were both very appreciative of the support they received from their family, friends, and strangers back home. They saw their children grow in through letters and telegrams. The kept up with current events through out-dated newspapers. They stayed alive by putting aside their differences and working towards the common goal.
Reliving history through those who lived it was the most humbling experience I could ever have. I have been a soldier for over 15 years and I have yet to see a fraction of what they have. As I left them, I thanked them for sharing their memories with me.
'Thank you' to all of you who either have served or are currently serving.
'Thank you' to all of you who support us. (Wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends, children, siblings, friends, and strangers)
God bless you all, and enjoy this Memorial Day.
