Lightbulb I have lost complete faith in our political system?

I have completely lost faith in our political system. I don't believe anyone, anymore. I don't trust anyone in our political establishment. I don't care about voting anymore. I feel so betrayed and I don't think I can trust any politicans out there anymore.
I hope that I'm the only one that feels this way. I have come to the conclusion that no one is going to save us, we have to save our ownselves. None of these politicians are going to save us, they only care about their political allies, career, pet projects, and special interests who cater to them.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I'm not quite as pessimistic about politicians. I think some of them are decent honorable people that are trying to do what's best for the country. Writing off all politicians as corrupt scum bags is an over reaction, in my opinion. Having said that, the political system is generally corrupt and may be beyond repairing in our lifetimes.

None of us has an excuse to opt out of the system. If we're convinced that the system is broken, we still have a moral obligation to try and change things. Even if our contribution is small, we still have to do what we can. Not voting is not the answer.

PS
Not voting is an excellent idea, if you were going to vote for Obama. I highly recommend it.

If your sentiments are at level 10 on the scale; I am at about an 8..............trending 7 if Romney/Ryan get elected, trending 9 if Obama is elected.....tick, tick, tick.

btw AntiC; thanks for sharing. It was honest and from the heart. And if you think things are that bad, have a plan to protect yourself from the civil chaos that is inevitable if/when the collapse happens. I see you are a gun salesmen; oh well, I don't need to be giving you advice on self protection.

Too bad you feel that way. Every single vote counts.
Wether you vote for Obama or the OTHER bad choice.
It is the one single action you can take to affect some
action. One voice is small, but it can still be heard. Especially
if other small voices chime in.

If apathy prevents you from voting, that is your right....
But it would be a shame.

Good luck , I hope you find motivation or inspiration .

The governement was never meant to save us. We are Americans. We are the city on a hill that gives back and saves itself.

In a way Obama was the best thing to ever happen to us. Because of him, millions of Americans woke up and started doing the work to save the lot of us. I would still be asleep if he hadn't come along and reminded me what makes our country different, by trying to turn it into something it was never meant to be.

I probably rank about a 9 on that scale. I really dont' have any faith in our politicians either. That's why I got busy. They won't save anyone but their own interests and pocket books.

We are to save us, if we are to be saved at all.

I recommend not voting for either Democrats or Republicans. Put them on notice that we are tired of their shit.

You're late. November 2004 should have shown you that.

I'm afraid our country is doomed in the hands of these self serving politicos. I want my country back! I really do.

Nobody is gonna hand it back to you; you have to fight to get it back......decide what your political philosphy is and start organizing, or join an existing political organization...write letters, blog, vote, donate, talk to everyone and anyone about it, be relentless.........join the fight to take it back, it can be fun and rewarding!

But don't expect to get any free pussy, it ain't like the old days at SDS/Berkley Free Speech Movement/Campus Sit Ins !

Unfortunately, not enough people do. Maybe we could change things if enough did.
