For someone with 141 posts and 3 reviews in 18 months of membership, it seems imprudent to throw the "newbie" title around. You may have some years in the business, and may be all kinds of experienced, but it certainly doesn't
look that way from the web-viewer's POV.
You took a risk on a new client. That's awesome that you would give the guy a chance. But it comes with risks. And clearly, you decided it was worth some risk. I'm sorry he wasted your time. But unless you are naming someone specific, this seems like a random vent. We ALL hate time wasters. So this isn't news.
As a "general lesson" to newbies, you aren't helping much. Add in the "
DON’T think you have control…..cuz you don’t. " is a pretty lousy business attitude. (Besides..it appears he did have control, even if it was at your expense) Both sides have a measure of control: one to provide a service, the other to provide a fee. If both don't work together, no one wins. EVERYONE should respect someone else's time, or risk the consequences of being labeled a bad hobbyist or provider.
And while this co-ed forum has gone lousy w/ NC/NS complaints, at least you got a message. Not that it makes the wasted time better, but many have had worse. He at least extended
some level of courtesy. (Though too little too late.) This hardly reads as "newbie nightmare." Nightmares get much worse when you take those risks. A couple of wasted hours is nothing compared to an unscreened visitor who may be violent, law enforcement or something along those lines.
If every post is an ad for your business, the original may not have been the best calculated one.
