What would be some of the areas in houston to purchase a home?

Hello, Everyone.

Can anyone tell me which area would be great to purchase a home? I'm looking for a nice place where there's not a lot of crime, it's not in a ghetto neighborhood...

Houston is a HUGE city. What's your budget? Where do you work? Do you have kids?

I really like the West U./Bellaire area, or if you have a bigger budget River Oaks and anything along Memorial Drive.

Sugarland, Katy, Woodlands are nice suburbs.

It depends on where you work, income, and if you care about public schools. Huffman, Atascocita, Kingwood, and The Woodlands are nice (quite a few rich people and upper middle class in the communities) but way up in the NE. Wouldn't know about the south side. Basically stay on the outside of beltway 8 and away from directly on 45, 59, basically any major roadway into or out of town and you will be OK.

River Oaks....Katy....Woodlands..Spr ing and also the far far Sugarland area are very nice

I work all the way down in baytown.. Right now, I live around Katy and I like the area. I do not mind the commute to work. My budget will more than likely be 100K, but I won't mine going 200K if it's something I really want or is a must have. I'm single and I do not have kids, but in the future I would like to have kids.

Atascocita if you work in Baytown. For somtime after the falling of the housing market Atascocita continued to increase in market values in comparison, which resulted in them holding steady on average market prices during 2010, 2011, and 2012. That has kept the average or median market at around $150,000.

With the completion of Beltway 8 its an easy commute to your work and there is a growing retail support base along the Beltway.

You could probably make half your payment from the fuel cost savings of less commute. Just my 2 cents worth .. fuel costs are going to continue to edge up and remain "high" into your future and the roadways you travel will continue to become more congested even with expansions, which are behind the curve on traffic flow by the time of completion.

The Atascocita area has remained with trees, many pine trees, and somewhat like other areas have retained much of its natural setting. We like being close to IAH.

Look into the flap over a country club ... and the community association. Their association is active, sometimes "too active." Which can be good or bad.
