Question Any jazz fans?

It's a lazy sunday and I'm going through my computer listening to some of my jazz music. Currently I'm zoning out on some classic Nancy Wilson and Eric Gale .. just thinking and doing some sudoku puzzles. Anyway, I need help upgrading my collection with some more jazz guitarist. Any recommendations?

Any jazz fans here? Who's your favorite artist or group?

I love jazz and blues, but I tend to like the really old school stuff by female jazz vocalists.

Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne, Billie Holiday (Music warning: Summertime is my ATF...reminds me of New Orleans, and I loves me some N'awlins... They Can't Take That Away From Me is also one of my fav's), Ella Fitzgerald...newer stuff, I like Amy Winehouse even though she's bat shit crazy, and Norah Jones. Those are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head, although they are not very guitar-ish.

I love Fitzgerald and Horne .. but I don't know about Holiday. I got so much of Billie Holiday music jammed onto my computer and I don't even listen to her a lot. It's just her voice I'm just not a fan of. There's a couple songs of hers I play from time to time. Don't Explain (soulful shit right there) and You Go to My Head.

I love a good female jazz vocalist. ..on just pure singing talent Nancy Wilson is my all-time favorite. I couldn't do without her "Lush Life" and "Turned to Blue" albums on my player.

Damnit, I wish I could have went to that New Orleans Jazz Festival. My all time favorite music act ever .. Take 6 .. was there. I would have done anything to have seen them live.

Now I know nobody on this site is into Take 6 .. or that type of music like I am. lol

Larry Carlton has always been one of my favorites, along with Pat Metheny. Steve Morse is a lot of fun for more jazz/rock stuff. +1 on Joe Pass for be-bop.
