Default Oh, There's Bad News Tonight

Does anyone remember the newscaster who used to start his broadcast with those words, or "There's good news tonight"? I can't remember who it was. Long ago.

Since so many of you don't read what I post and seem to have standardized vitriol that you cut and paste into each thread that I start, I thought I would save you some time and trouble by combining a few stories I found interesting. God forbid that you might develop carpal tunnel syndrome and hire TTH to sue me. But that's just the type of guy I am, always thinking about others. So go ahead and just cut and paste your flames and hate once, and get it over with. I'll return your flames with warm wishes, and fondly respond to your hate, or simply just sit and enjoy the ignores.

And if anyone wants to discuss something intelligently and rationally, I'll be surprised, but I will respond in kind.

Topic 1

Obama starts his "Betting on America" bus tour touting "made in America" products and accusing Romney of being an "outsourcer of jobs."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...KPW_story.html

Oh, did he mention that the bus he is using was made in a foreign country? (Canada) I guess he had to outsource the manufacturing of the bus. He wasn't ready to "bet on America."

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/nationa...k5MyKNS4B7Qp7O

Topic 2

Obamacare regulations already take up over 13,000 pages. They aren't done.

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012...-obamatax-law/

Topic 3

The UN wants to tax the world's billionaires to help the poor. Yeah, right. They're just tired of Americans lining their pockets with tax money, and they want in on the action.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/un-calls-bi...211640656.html

Do we really want to submit ourselves to the taxing authority of the UN?

Topic 4

Another green energy project that received a loan guarantee from the federal government goes belly up. Are we seeing a trend here?

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...nergy-project/

Start a phony company, call it "green", get Obamamoney, go bankrupt. That's how you get ahead in America today.

Topic 5

The Obamavagen, er, I mean, the Chevy Volt, continues to lose money and idle workers. No wonder GM hasn't paid us back yet. But the unions are happy.

http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2...CFRONTPAGE%7Cs

There you go, flamers and haters. Flame and hate away! And be sure to use proper hand positioning while cutting and pasting your inanity. Don't want anyone hurt, do we?

Ok, I'll bite. Topic 4. I think it sucks that alternative energy companies have failed, but I think it's still a very important thing to invest in. Almost all of them will fail, but one of them will hit (or so I believe, but I'm an optimist), and when it does, having access to unlimited cheap energy will solve a lot of problems. I can't say how or when the breakthrough will come - it will probably be completely serendipitous, but I think it will.

Sorry for the lack of insults. Unless you wear plaid shorts and a solid that isn't in the plaid, in which case I heap whatever aspersions you can think of on you.

In which case, I would deserve it. Thanks! If we want unlimited, cheap energy, we will have to get the oil companies out of it. They have too much influence over Washington.

And check out the writings of Nicola Tesla. Interesting, to say the least.

Thanks!

Ah the perpetual motion machine or unlimited cheap energy.
Solar not unlimited and not cheap.
Wind, not unlimited and not cheap.
Sounds like those two avenues are the wrong streets to be gong down yet we continue to pour money in that direction.

Plese do not forget that what ever unlimited and cheap source of energy is found, it must not affect the environment in any way shape or form.

Maybe one day a source of abundant energy will be found but in the meantime, don't kill the goose that laid the golden egg that brought us to the greatest achievements of our existence.

Now if you could just figure out how to turn carbon dioxide into energy you could reverse the man made climate change.......

Until someone actually builds the perpetual motion machine to produce electricity, we will use fossil fuels. Better use of these fuels is the only way to reduce our use, but driving these new tiny cars, getting more people killed is not a good conservation technique. I just grin with disbelief every time a smart car whizzes past my F-250 pickup, hitting a squirrel in that thing would kill all occupants.

So what do you think will happen when we do run out of fossil fuels? You don't care because you think it's not going to happen in your lifetime, let your grandchildren deal with the problem. That's very nice of you.

I still think the fact that Obama is doing his "Betting on America" tour in a foreign made bus is funny.

Since you decide to either not research or just overlook them to allow you to better gloat about this, lets add some facts about this shall we:

Fact #1. The Secret Service is responsible for the "bus" along with them being responsible for the "beast" the Cadillac looking limo/tank that the president uses.

Fact #2. The Secret Service handled all facets of the "bus" from it's purchase, it's design and just who the coach builder would be (Hemphill Brothers Coach Builders located in Whites Creek, TN). Prevost only supplied a basic shell and chassis to be made into the "bus".

Fact #3, We bought him that bus, it's tax payer owned though the Secret Service, Obama didn't just go down to the local bus dealer and say "I want that one!", the only part Obama really played in it was making the request for the "bus". A bus that even the Secret Service has said they had needed, not only for the President but other dignitaries as well.

Fact #4. Yes, the bus was manufactured in Canada by Prevost busses, if you look up Prevost you'll find that 6 out of their 7 locations are in the US. Seems they are helping our economy much more than they are the Canadian one, which is the point you are gloating about, well trying to atleast................A for the effort.

Fact #5. Prevost is one of the most widely used tour bus, the busses used by McCain and Palin.................... yep you guessed it, made by Prevost. Unsure as to who the final coach builder was for those busses as I didn't care to look it up.

Ok, you may blindly continue to gloat about something that on the outside seems to be true but once looked into isn't exactly as you presented it.
