Romney Stuns Crowd With Brilliance!

"The world is not safe," Romney told veterans on Memorial Day.

This bit of shocking news came after the presumptive Republican nominee for President of the United States was introduced by Mensa member, John McCain.

The solution, Romney told the crowd of veterans, is to spend more money on defense. It appears that we have fallen behind in our war quota, and Romney is determined to right that wrong. In fact, it may be necessary to engage Iran, Syria and North Korea in battle if we are going to raise profits for the war racketeers, . . . sorry, uh, I mean, remain safe in this ever more hostile world.

More arms! Less freedom! Ah, ain't it great to be an American!

Seriously, this is the alternative? Really? God help us!

Well, what do you want him to say; time to start pounding those swords into plowshares?

Nothing rallies the GOP base more than promising a strong national defense. Not only is it good politics, but it is smart politics. Romney leads Obama by a whopping 28% of vets in the most recent poll. Obama has been trying to snipe at this obvious Romney stronghold. In politics, it is always a smart play not to take your base for granted thus allowing your opponent to have an opening. Besides, this is Memorial Day. No better day to remind the nation of the dangers our military faces on a daily basis.

History of the Quote

This statement was used as a motto on the title page of An Historical Review of the Constitution and Government of Pennsylvania. (1759) which was attributed to Franklin in the edition of 1812, but in a letter of September 27, 1760 to David Hume, he states that he published this book and denies that he wrote it, other than a few remarks that were credited to the Pennsylvania Assembly, in which he served.
