Ok this is kind of a rant but it's my first one so I hope I can be forgiven!!

Monday evening I had a guy from out of town contact me for an appt. I told him that I would love to see him and what I needed for screening. He sends me his ref's and I immediately send out the emails. I got a quick response back from the ref's so I email him back to let him know that he has been verified..... So far so good.....Except.....

......I don't hear back from him till 5p on Tuesday wanting to know what night is good for me. I tell him either Thursday or Friday will work and ask him to let me know which day and what time will be good for him. This is the point it starts going downhill.... 3 hours later he finially responds with "I was hoping for tonight but Thursday will work" So I tell him "I can see you at 7p on Thursday, what duration?" He writes back and says "it would have to be after 10p, what about tonight?" UGH!!!!

If he was hoping to see me Tuesday evening why didn't he just say so in the first place? Why bother asking me what night was good for me when he already had an idea of what day and time he wanted? Had he told me on Monday or even at 5p on Tuesday that he wanted to see me that night I could have worked it out to see him but no, he wants to wait till 8p to tell me that! If Thursday works then tell me what time works for you! Don't make me pick a time and then tell me it's no good!

This kind of stuff goes on all of the time..... gentlemen please, when contacting a provider to schedule an appointment be forthcoming with the dates and times your schedule allows. It can be quite frustrating for us to have to guess at what works for you. If you say from the start "I am free on tues. wed and thursday after 8p please tell me what availability you have for those days. BTW my preference is for tues." Well that gives us something to work with. I can now reply back with either "i am available on tues." or "I am booked for the evening on Tuesday but will be available on wed. for 8p" Much easier and a heck of a lot less aggravating!

OK... I'm done now!

I dont know what to tell you , April.

I can only compare this to someone automobile shopping.

75% of the folks who walk onto a car lot have little intention on making an actual purchase. But they like to shop, talk to the salesman, look at the car a few times. Think about it some, go look at another dealership, think about it some more.
And in the end, more often than not, they dont buy a car.

I know it is frustrating to the ladies, but it is part of the business.

April, you call that a rant???.....Where's the cussin' and fussin' and just downright dissin' that is generally a part of a real rant.....That post pretty much read like a "guys, here's a little tip for ya" kind of post vs. a true "rant".....Don't be getting me excited like that and then not deliver the goods or I'm gonna hafta have Dallas come over and spank yer ass.....

I hear you, April and I hope you feel better after your rant. I go back to my philosophy of not being able to control others. I cannot control what clients do or don't do, I cannot control market conditions, and window shoppers, all I can do is control how I react to them. I have choosen to be friendly and kind and spend some time with my potential clientele. I am sure you were kind and friendly. My point is that often, and just yesterday, in fact these clients come back to me with intent on buying. And if they do not come back I wish them all the best.

Yesterday morning my office gets a call from a lady I have met with twice, and for me, that is very rare that a potnetial client sees me twice without a check. My standard practice is to meet once and set an appt to sign the contract after that. After the first meeting, about a month ago, I got the feeling she cannot afford me and will move on. About two weeks later she just shows up at my office without an appt. The receptionist tells me and I do not remember who she is so I step into the lobby, then I remembered and I thought "oh Crap! a waste of my time." I take her into the conference room, she asks a few questions, I help as much as I can. Tuesday morning I get a call from this lady wanting to come in with a check to hire me. Naturally, I clear my calendar and make time for her (she had a check). Now she is a client. So, my point is that my choosing to be nice and friendly and spend extra time with her landed me the contract. Come to find out she has other family members that may need my services as well.

I cannot control that this lady shows up unannounced, that she took her time in choosing who to hire, her demeanor told me she was window shopping, how wrong I was.

This guy could turn out to be the most handsome man you have ever met, become a reliable regular, and give you more orgasms than you ever imagined possible. Prolly not but you never know.

Every and any time I want to set up an appointment I give my preferred day/date/time and at least an alternate, or, when I'm fairly open, I'll let her set the day/time if my first choice is not available. Always give as much info to set the appointment in the first place to save time and avoid all the PMs, emails or phone calls going back and forth.

When I first started this thread I had already written the guy off but early this morning he contacts me again wanting to see me today afterall. The very first thing that pops into my head is your story above. So... I kept my cool and made the sale! Yet another satisfied customer!! Thanks babe!
