I have a late-middle-aged friend that, to my surprise, has decided he is going to give it a shot as a male escort - for women only. He's totally green and has asked for for advice ("What's the difference between and incall and an outcall?," etc.), and I have tried to give him all the cautions I can think of, including: DON'T DO IT. But, assuming he does, I have two big questions:

1) Is male escorting really that big of an industry? We've all seen HUNG on HBO, but it seems more myth than reality to me - unless you count the gay hookup scene, which he won't touch.

2) If this DOES happen, what do you think women are looking for from an escort? - because I'll bet it's totally different from men. And what might the typical demographic for a woman looking for an escort be like?

well, i wish him luck, but all the male escorts i've personally met and heard of - usually end up dipping in with the men too in some form or fashion if they want the good money.

My feedback to him was that if you aren't willing to deal with men, don't even bother.

My guess is that a few weird phone calls will be enough to make him think twice and pull the plug. This is not something you do halfway.

Male escorting is big for gay men, and bisexual men, but not for straight men. I mean let's face it, women can get laid anytime without paying for sex for the most part, and can easily find a fuck buddy without strings attached if that's what they're looking for. That being said, there was one male escort ( heterosexual only) at an agency I worked at a long time ago who lucked out. He was African American and his client was an older, wealthy white woman who bought him a car, took him on trips, and paid him handsomely. But that's pretty rare. That's more like being a gigolo, and we know there are plenty of men like that in places where there happen to be rich, older lonely women LOL.

I have a straight friend who's brother works in a gay bar on the southside of Ft. Worth. He's openly gay and moonlite's as a male escort. He's in his late 20's, physically fit & in shape, washboard abs, muscular, lean & trim. He told us straight up 99% of his clientel are gay men looking for a top or bottom. If there was much of a market for male escort for women only, then don't you think there would be ad and review sites dedicated to it? I've never seen one. I think I've read about it on the boards a few times over the years, but, as already mentioned, the vast majority of the demand for male escorts is always reported to be from other dudes. It also doesn't make sense--any woman could go on one of the many fuck buddy websites and choose from dozens of guys to fuck for free. So, unless he's got some very special qualifications or connections, I don't see how he's gonna make any money doing this.

Slightly different but perhaps related, I've been spending time on some of the sugar daddy sites and I do see sections for sugar mommas. I'm kinda skeptical a late-middle aged man would attract a lot of attention there, but who knows. But, at least there seems to be a market for this and I can see how a successful, well to do woman might pay the right guy to be her regular boy toy. Perhaps he might want to give that a try.
