White Knighting
So instead of continuing a discussion with OSD about this in a review thread, i thought i would bring it out here to see what everyones definition of this is.
The subject came up in a review thread that was recently posted on hunter, where someone asked if she used to go by another name. OSD chose to chime on on her behalf saying that hunter had seen the review (which OSD correctly pointed out to me that she has the ability to do, i guess except for the private parts) and that she was upset at being confused with another lady from some time ago, so he asked that everyone make a note and for that not to happen anymore.
Now in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a major deal, but it occurred to me that every time i read a review of Hunter, that OSD has in some way always commented about his personal relationship, how long they have known each other, moved furniture into her apartment, what ever else etc.
Now here is the question, he say he isn't white knighting, but i think this is the definition of a white knight. Someone that uses his friendship with a provider (or that provider uses her friendship with that person) to help defend her or to use that person to make points about them that they are able to make themselves, but they hope to gain some edge by letting this other person (OSD, a respected and long member of the board) make for them instead? to me this is the definition of white knighting...
what say you all.?

To me WK leak ROS and private to providers. And defend her in any Fault others may have posted.
In the one review she did ask me to post. She does not post very much.
Ok so in your view I'm a WK. I can live with that. I have no problem with your opinion.
If you are just looking to get me to go away fine. Others also would like that.

a "white knight" is commonly defined as a third party (predominantly male) who comes to the defense of an unknown second party female who is being attacked by a first party male or female.
the defense is more often than not partaken under the pretext of currying favor with the female under attack, often with sexual congress as a goal in doing so.
the defining element of a "white knight" is that he does not know the female under attack (cf. "anita ripped me off" http://eccie.net/showthread.php?t=349282).
the behaviors exhibited by OSD in regard to hunter would more accurately be described as "chronic hero syndrome".

I think clearing up false information is not WK however once it becomes a more defensive position it becomes WK.
If the info in the review was false and it is simply corrected with the truth, that's for the betterment of the community, right? If the person gets defensive or accusatory (not saying OSD did) then youre approaching WK IMO

I didn't see OSDs comments as WK. Who gives a crap if he's friends with a provider and helps her out. Everyone needs friends and help. If he's got an in with a provider, good for him.
I see WK as a far more defensive posture than this.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Awesome. Boy do I miss Ms. Eliz.. alas, I'm in that cheap errrr economically prudent group she so accurately described on another string. This was perfectly executed, though. Especially that "pretext of currying favor" stuff.
I think that dude in star wars said it best to Obi Wan:
"Your jedi mind tricks don't work on me, only money..."
Too true, but that sort of thing goes both ways in this biz. Everyone has convince themselves in their own way. Mz. Eliz always goes hard. I like that.

I may have gotten a bit defensive of myself in the review.
Sorry about that.

Its only a question as I think the term itself leads to this discussion. ITs not meant as an attack on anyone, in particular OSD (who BTW, no i do not wish you to go away, you complete me), but i just think that if it is said that a lady (or a guy) has access to this board, they should fight their own battles and clear up misconceptions on their own. It eliminates any chance misinterpretation the second time around.
I could care less if someone has a personal relationship with a lady on this board, hell i do, but i also dont talk about in every post made about that lady is my point. Let her place ads or make comments in threads her self. this is what leads to the open sharing of better information, not having someone comment for you...

It was wrong that I wrote a few ads for her. Its I was told reported to St C. I was not pointed for not being a registered helper. MMMMM not sure why. I did it for fun as I am a post ho. Much of my posting now is in two other forums. One may die soon.

in the review he did state to reply in coed. ijs
providers are not to post in reviews. they can. but it gets red edit by mods. I think points can be given if a provider keeps doing so.
well off to work, will read this latter

J.A.P.,
Interesting question and you're right out here is good as it allow ladies to comment.
I saw OSD's comment as sharing what a provider could not and it was done in a fair and considerate manner. Was it WKing? Not at all and the it was nice to see! (but then that is just my HHP ... Humble Honest Opinion :roflmao)
