Default property taxes

IT is fkn BS
That my property taxes go to
from google:

What do my property taxes pay

Property taxes help finance the salaries and supplies for firefighters, police, EMTs and a range of public safety workers. Beyond these essential institutions, property taxes also provide the funds necessary for legal payouts for misconduct, personal injury lawsuits, etc.

YET
renters dont pay property tax

oh, they pay rent and landlord pays property tax based on size of home/apartment etc

so fkn what?

renters still get NO BILL from JC to pay for roads.cops etc
WHY NOT?
everyone should pay?!!

IF you go to walmart and BIGDEAL Or shaq shows up and pays for your stuff, its all FREE To you
same with your landlord paying your property tax

(and I know property tax is the BIG way JC gets money, but taxation on unrealized gains is FKN NONSENSE
stocks arent taxed on unrealized gains until they are SOLD

same should be for property tax

/rant

They also don't own anything. I build a new home in 2019 and when the market jumped 6 months later the value went up almost 60% in a matter of months. We'll be paid off this year, and no more house payments ever. The taxes suck, but renters pay their hard earned cash and have nothing to show for it. Thats why you see so many of these people trying to retire, and they can't afford to live.

^^^^Yep what he said. Property tax is for the owner of the property. Renters don’t own squat. And all of us, renters included, pay for roads as the majority of that is funded from gas tax.

I expect landlords consider property taxes when the set rents. So renters pay indirectly ... If a landlord does it right .. all expenses are covered plus a profit.. not to mention tax advantages of investment property on income taxes

Yep. Where we built our home, there are several like it that developers are renting out. Their charging around 2600 a month to rent, and thats twice what my mortgage payment was. Stupidity....

not the point
they dont pay for roads or schools or emts/cops
why not?
cause they dont own property? still not right

propertytaxes arent right at all

everyone should just pay X amount and the city should live in a budget
you dont use more services cos your house is big

Anybody that drives a car pays for roads. It's called gas tax, that's what pays for roads. Not property tax.

look dummy..just because you do not get a " bill" does not mean you are not paying it...it is in the rent..if the property tax goes up so does the rent..

Wow this thread is funny
I don't like paying taxes either but if we don't pay them then we couldn't enjoy the things we enjoy
Nice roads
Nice parks
Fire protection
Police protection
And the list goes on
I see a bigger problem
Too many people simply aren't educated on issues and know how to manage money
So you guys that rent sit down and figure out how much money you're throwing away
I know several guys that own rental properties and are multi millionaires because of your stupidity

Hey Timmy - If you'd like to unload yourself from the burdens of the tax man, I'm looking to expand my rental empire.
