Spring ahead!!!!
Tonight starts Daylight savings time. Spring ahead! There’s been an ongoing debate whether we should adopt a permanent Daylight savings time. I prefer Daylight savings time over Standard savings time. I prefer longer sun at the end of the day instead of the beginning. I’m for making it permanent.
What say you?

Changing the clocks twice a year costs over a billion dollars in lost productivity. It's fucking stupid. We aren't trying to save energy anymore - we don't use candles or oil lighting, which is what it was intended to save. We don't need to save electricity. It's fucking stupid.
Keep it ahead, or keep it bad, don't care. Changing our work schedule is stupid and really should be abolished. But that depends on congress to pass a law, which they won't do

Trumpf is doing his usual waffling on this subject. I prefer more time in the evening. But we should keep one time and not change it.

No, I wouldn't care to mention him in regards to this. This has been going back and forth long before he was in the public's political eye. Unless he said something stupid or nonfactual about it, that is.
FWIW, I feel like even as a kid, politicians were always musing at the idea of getting rid of daylight savings. Same BS said by people on both sides, who each genuinely don't want to change anything. Just say it to placate their voters.

Why would you have to change your work schedule?

Yes, this issue has been talked about since its adoption during ww1 in 1918.

Mebbe Owbie was referring to farm animals!!!!
“Humans might have alarm clocks to adjust, but animals don’t. There’s anecdotal evidence that the shift is disruptive to animals such as dairy cows, who don’t tolerate changes to their schedules. One livestock farmer in Utah wrote to tell us that DST is “nothing but a royal pain. My chickens and cows only know when the sun comes up and goes down. Having to adjust our work schedules twice yearly does nothing for us.”
“One goat farmer in North Carolina told us that his goats are upset over the time change. “I milk in the morning, in the dark, in the spring and fall in order to have time to do all the other things I have to do during daylight hours.” In order to help his herd deal with the time shift, he moves their feeding and milking schedule incrementally. A change of a few minutes per day over the course of a week is a lot less noticeable than a full hour jump all at once.”

Generally, adults need to go to work at the same time of the day, 5 days a week.
If the government decides that your wake-up time is now 5:30 in the morning, when it was previously 6:30 in the morning, that often throws people off for a couple of days.
I'm rather sure that anyone who works, or worked a job that has steady hours (so, not retail, but maybe even retail!) would agree with this.
Falling back is cool.
Springing ahead is 'fuck you give me my coffee fuck the morning we are all fucking sleepy ba humbug'.

Keep it for a longer sunlight in the afternoon. I’m not sure but I think this is done in part so kids aren’t waiting at bus stops in the dark. Just start a little later. Done.

It confuses all creatures including humans.
Pick one and stay with it.
Trust me, no one wants to explain to a milk cow why she's not being relived until an hour later.
Even a misdirected hoof kick can break a 4x4 stall post.
Bambino does actually understand this at post 7.

Originally this was put into place to save coal and heating oil for the war effort.
No longer relevant now. Stick with one and no more switching back n forth

Yea... really the only people who aren't opposed to sticking to a schedule are the people who don't work.
No shit it won't bother you. You aren't waking up an hour earlier in the spring. Kudos to wanting the working class to continue to suffer. Kudos to wanting the economy to bleed nearly 1 billion dollars in lost productivity twice a year. But if that makes you feel like a big man by having a big disagreement with everyone... good on you. The emperor wears no clothes.
