Lipstick Dallas

I'm an unashamed and unapologetic connoisseur of gentlemen's night life, particularly of the naked variety. There was a day (and it may still be) that Lipstick was my preferred destination for longer visits to a club. It holds the record for my best night experience at a club. Understated, out of the way, and well-managed at that time it was a site to behold. Patrons of means and those without were treated with equal respect. The sense of community was equal to that of eroticism--a mix I still seek today.

I haven't been in years. Anyone been lately?

It has been my favorite for many years. I now live in Costa Rica and only get to Dallas about once a year. I always visit Lipstick. The cost of VIP is $50 now. The vast majority of the dancers are Cuban which slows done the communication for us monolinguals. As always your mileage may vary. Last Spring was everything I could want. Last night not so much. It’s worth a visit. I’ll try again before I leave the states again in a few months.

I was in Dallas last May and had a great time at Lipstick until it was raided during one of my visits. I keep getting conflicting reports. Some say it is getting back to what it was before the raid and others are giving it thumps down so you will just have to stop and see for yourself and of course report back.

It depends on who is managing on a given day. Sometimes, it's restrictive; others, anything goes. No clear way to know before going. So, it is a roll of the dice.

I went a year or so ago and shortly after sitting down a girl asked if I wanted company (with her body language). I nodded and asked her name and then she told me she didn’t speak English…and it was completely awkward from that moment on. I left after finishing my beer and to be a nice guy I bought her some lunch and tipped her a couple of 20s and she seemed like a nice girl (from her facial expressions?).

You handled that well. Language barriers in any situation can be awkward. My visits to Lips have always been spread over months and years and the racial mix is different every time. I enjoy that but you're right, it can be hard to get the evening started that way.

Here, I usually start at the bar, spend some time on the floor near the stage, then move back to the VIP wall with the new friends I've made. Language barriers aren't as much of a problem back there.
