Default Absentee / Mail In Ballots and Election Fraud by the Democrats

Even the NY Times admits there is problem. And this type of rampant election fraud isn’t limited solely to Connecticut:

Election Fraud…in Bridgeport, Conn.

Voters say that campaigns in Connecticut’s largest city routinely rely on absentee ballots — collected illegally — to win elections. Now, the city faces a mayoral primary redo.

The unlikely & confusing situation arose after a judge ruled that there was enough evidence of misconduct in the Democratic primary in September to throw its result…into doubt. The judge pointed to videos showing ‘partisans’ repeatedly stuffing absentee ballots into drop boxes.

The footage provided a particularly lurid illustration of ballot tampering

But in Bridgeport, Connecticut’s largest city, ballot manipulation has undermined elections for years.

In interviews & in court testimony, residents of the city’s low-income housing complexes described people sweeping through their apartment buildings, often pressuring them to apply for absentee ballots they were not legally entitled to. Sometimes, residents say, campaigners fill out the applications or return the ballots for them — all of which is illegal.

‘Bridgeport has a very long, tortured history of absentee ballot abuse,’ said Bill Bloss, a lawyer who persuaded the judge to order the fall primary to be rerun.

‘It’s not a secret,’ he added. ‘It has been going on for years.’

Last June, the State Election Enforcement Commission found evidence of criminality in the 2019 Democratic primary for mayor. In 2022, a judge ordered a Democratic primary for state representative to be rerun amid an allegation of ballot fraud.

In 2018, Bridgeport was forced to hold three primaries for City Council. The first was invalidated over a miscounted absentee ballot; the second was voided by the State Supreme Court in part because a police officer had improperly collected absentee ballots.

Similar episodes have been documented back to the 1980s, though political observers say they cannot remember how the tradition of ballot manipulation initially took hold. Such manipulation has led to forgery charges, fines & even bans on participating in campaigns.

‘It is just simply part of the electoral strategy political culture in Bridgeport,’ Mr. Bloss said. ‘The perception is that you can win elections in Bridgeport by harvesting absentee ballots. And so, they do it.’

‘It is routine here,’ said State Senator Marilyn Moore, whose district includes parts of Bridgeport and who lost to Mayor Ganim in 2019. She added: ‘People just accept it. Like, ‘It’s just Bridgeport.’’

A far greater % of voters in Bridgeport use absentee ballots than in many other Connecticut communities…. In the 2023 primaries, almost 23% of Bridgeport’s votes were absentee ballots, compared with about 15% in Hartford & under 5% in New Haven.

In 2019, three voters sued Mayor Ganim, city election officials & others. About a dozen voters testified that someone else had filled out at least part of their absentee ballot application for them, or submitted a fraudulent application. Others testified that absentee ballots never came or had just shown up in the mail, even if they hadn’t applied. Others said they did not vote, but the town clerk had a record of their ballots.

Interesting to say the least that out of the dozens upon dozens of years we had mail in voting (what for military people overseas, the disabled who are bedridden) that it was never considered fraudulent. Only after the MAGA movement started did it become untrustworthy. Interesting. Quite interesting.

Oh wait, they admit it is all in their heads

Didn't Trump use Mail In's until the last time when he was peaking over Melania shoulder and had to instruct her who to vote for cause he knew she was too stupid and wouldn't remember who he told her to vote for?

Before that, he said mail in's they were great? So being he lost is that why they are no good now?

Here is a question if all the mail in votes were a fraud, all the republicans that won other positions shouldn't have? Is that what you are saying? All the governors and other important positions that the republicans won actually did not?

Or is that only count when a republican loses?

He voted by mail
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tr...voted-by-mail/

Why didn't he vote in person, if voting by mail was not reliable?

Voting in our country is absolutely safe. Only when you get fraudsters and chronic liars in charge looking for ways to exploit our system do you end up finding that fraudsters and chronic liars claim that the Other Guys have ways to exploit our system.

Even more interesting is that before MAGA, Republicans voted by mail in much larger numbers than Dems. Goes to show that MAGA is indeed a cult. Everything the GOP used to stand for is now in the rear view mirror. They don't care about family values, the military or the Constitution anymore, because those things don't jive with Dear Leader.

The true RINO here is trump. Normal, sane, real Republicans are out in the cold without a political party because of this guy.

They aught to cede from the GOP and form their own party. The MAGA party. I think this would please everyone - except MAGAs, who will quickly realize that they have no ground to stand on in a two-party country.
The fact they are up in arms about voting by mail, after they have been voting by mail, is silly. You can't say whatever system you have been using for years is broken just because you didn't get your desired outcome one year.

MAGA- aka America First is the far right fringe of the GOP party. It's likely about half the GOP party and 20-30-ish % of americans, and sadly- they would prefer that nobody votes unless you are a GOP/ MAGA member, but only if you ride in on your dinosaur, write your name in blood on their book, and then dip your finger in INK like they do over in the middle east. You know- where all the good measures of elections is done.

Pretty much goes to show that trump, and his overfed, overprivileged supporters, are among the most entitled people in human history.

"We didn't win, therefore it's rigged and the whole system is broken". Everything's a conspiracy against them. Lol. Fucking pathetic. Bunch of sore loser crybabies who never heard the word "no" when they were growing up.

Default Jimmy Carter Warned Against Mail-In Ballots in 2005

After he left office, Jimmy Carter founded the Carter Center as a non-profit NGO. The Center's Democracy Program has sent watchdogs to observe & monitor 115 elections in 40 countries.

In 2005, Carter co-chaired a 2005 Commission on Presidential Electoral Reform.

Here's a WSJ article from April 2020:

Heed Jimmy Carter on the Danger of Mail-In Voting

‘Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.’

By John R. Lott Jr.
April 10, 2020 6:27 pm ET

‘Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.” That quote isn’t from President Trump, who criticized mail-in voting this week after Wisconsin Democrats tried and failed to change an election at the last minute into an exclusively mail-in affair. It’s the conclusion of the bipartisan 2005 report of the Commission on Federal Election Reform, chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker III.

Concerns about vote-buying have a long history in the U.S. They helped drive the move to the secret ballot, which U.S. states adopted between 1888 and 1950. Secret ballots made it harder for vote buyers to monitor which candidates sellers actually voted for. Vote-buying had been pervasive; my research with Larry Kenny at the University of Florida has found that voter turnout fell by about 8% to 12% after states adopted the secret ballot.

You wouldn’t know any of this listening to the media outcry over Mr. Trump’s remarks. “There is a lot of dishonesty going on with mail-in voting,” the president said Tuesday. In response, a CNN “fact check” declares that Mr. Trump “opened a new front in his campaign of lies about voter fraud.” A New York Times headline asserts: “Trump Is Pushing a False Argument on Vote-by-Mail Fraud.” Both claim that voter fraud is essentially nonexistent. The Carter-Baker report found otherwise.

Intimidation and vote buying were key concerns of the commission: “Citizens who vote at home, at nursing homes, at the workplace, or in church are more susceptible to pressure, overt and subtle, or to intimidation. Vote buying schemes are far more difficult to detect when citizens vote by mail.” The report provides examples, such as the 1997 Miami mayoral election that resulted in 36 arrests for absentee-ballot fraud. The election had to be rerun, and the result was reversed.

There are more recent cases, too. In 2017 an investigation of a Dallas City Council election found some 700 fraudulent mail-in ballots signed by the same witness using a fake name. The discovery left two council races in limbo, and the fraud was much larger than the vote differential in one of those races. The case resulted in a criminal conviction.

In a 2018 North Carolina congressional race, Republican Mark Harris edged out Democrat Dan McCready by 905 votes. Fortunately, the state had relatively complete absentee-ballot records. Election officials became suspicious when they discovered that the Republican received 61% of mail-in votes, even though registered Republicans accounted for only 19% of those who had requested mail-in ballots.

A Republican operative, L. McCrae Dowless Jr., had allegedly requested more than 1,200 absentee ballots on voters’ behalf and then collected the ballots from voters’ homes when they were mailed out. Mr. Dowless’s assistants testified that they were directed to forge voters’ signatures and fill in votes. A new election was required, but Mr. Harris didn’t run. Mr. Dowless faces criminal charges for absentee-ballot fraud in both the 2016 and 2018 elections and has pled not guilty.

It is often claimed that impossibly large numbers of people live at the same address. In 2016, 83 registered voters in San Pedro, Calif., received absentee ballots at the same small two-bedroom apartment. Prosecutors rarely pursue this type of case.

Mail-in voting is a throwback to the dark old days of vote-buying and fraud. Because of this, many countries don’t allow absentee ballots for citizens living in their country, including Norway and Mexico. Americans deserve a more trustworthy system.

Indeed Salty, indeed. And leftists know it but are afraid to admit it. They go out of their way to avoid / belittle the issue of ballot harvesting and absentee ballot fraud when the facts show what a problem it is

Now Lusty has posted an excellent article on the dangers of mail in balloting from a commission co-chaired by Jimmy Carter. Just more facts on the issue
