Default Smell a rat ?!

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it suspicious that on the day Biden comes to the burgh, a bridge collapses. After all, he is here to pitch his infastructure bill.

Actually, after speaking to contractors who worked on the 32nd street bridge project, its amazing we haven't had more bridges collapse.

Biden doesn't know what he is saying, so, it won't matter to him, just his speech writers.

Bro we all live in Pittsburgh, there’s a 4 year old tweet showing one of the supports from that bridge literally rusted away. That’s some tin foil hat shit right there. Devo is right it’s a fucking miracle something worse hasn’t happened already.

Many years ago I was stopped in traffic under the stanwix street overpass. Was in my vw convertible. Suddenly chunks of stuff were falling on me. I looked up and there was a hole the roadway as vehicles passed over they were dislodging pieces of roadway that’s what was landing in me. Circa 1977 78.

It certainly is quite the coincidence that this happens a few hours before the dementia addled mental midget is in town to spew forth garbage about his infrastructure bill

That said, no I highly highly doubt it was intentional. But the real thing people are not talking about is how this is a city owned and maintained bridge in a city run by incompetent Democrats for over 100 years

But hey, all you city dwellers got bike lanes and Black Lives matter from dipshit Peduto

Incompetent Democrats who have run the City of Pittsburgh for the last 100 years own this

Remember the big bridge that went over 376 parkway near Greenfield chunks of concrete fell off that for years and injured several drivers. The solution was to build a deck under it to catch the chunks till they finally redid it after 10 years post shit falling. Infrastructure shouldn't be a political football and even several Republicans voted for it cause they know it's absolutely important. Did some pork get shoved in the bill, of course. That's how politics works in this country. I think it's shitty but that doesn't change how shit gets done around here. Actually the Pittsburgh area should be a large recipient of those infrastructure dollars, which means jobs and an improved experience for folks in this area. What makes the area better, increases property values and drives populations to an area. The downside is will likely see a shit ton more of those orange fucking cones from PennDOT

I'd say the largest ding against Pittsburgh, is the fact that the Pittsburgh parking authority owns so much land, and likely cannot support the upkeep as an owner, when they should really just be a licensed holder, and charge for the use and let individual, or companies own the properties under contract. It's amazing how many office buildings are owned by the city, especially being detrimental while workers are displaced or working from home, I can't imagine what the vacancy rate is currently but it's got to be through the roof for business offices.

Without bothering to Google the whole history of the old Greenfield Bridge, here's what I seem to recall from the 30 years that I drove underneath it: There was an initial deck built under the bridge/over the parkway in the 1980s to catch falling pieces of concrete. After a big renovation project on the bridge, the deck was removed. Several decades later, chunks started falling off again, resulting in netting being placed in various spots underneath the bridge to catch the chunks. I think some of them got so big that they broke through the netting and fell to the parkway below. This resulted in a second deck being constructed, and it remained in place until the bridge was replaced. Back then I remember reading a great quote in regards to the netting and deck: "It's the only bridge in the world that has it's own diaper AND litter box"!

If biden’s infrastructure bill was about infrastructure I’d be for it. Unfortunately it’s just a bunch of tax increases to fund woke bullshit.
