Default EDC Knives

How many of you carry a blade on a daily basis?

What styles do you prefer as far as fixed blade vs folder? Blade profiles? Blade steels? Handle materials?

Weekdays I carry a SOG Pentagon XR. Light, sharp as a razor and plenty of grip. Dagger profile and thin blade. Action is smooth as butter. Opens quickly and in either hand with little effort. Conceals well in my pocket.

Weekends I carry a Kabar Becker BK16.
Drop point. Same profile as the BK2 but downsized. Comfortable handle. 1095 has always been a dependable favorite of mine for its durability. It's a versatile option for most situations. Light and takes up little room on my hip.

I have one of those mini Swiss Army knives that you put on your key chain. Comes in handy.

I have one of those that I got out of the drawer from my wifes place in Ohio some years back. Someone lost it in one of the rooms.
She threw it in the drawer in the desk, when we left it went with us still have it somewhere around here.

But to the OPs question, a Kershaw I forget the name of the model been carrying it for several years now.
But it's super light, pocket clipped, hollow ground drop point, 3", spring assisted opening.
And a second small regular pocket knife, a Chinese Gerber, 12 bucks at Wal-mart use it to clean my nails! Both get razor sharp with a couple of licks across the diamond stick or whatever the hell it's called.

My old Kershaw was dependable for a decade. Carried one everyday for 2 years in the early 2000's, then it ended up in my tool bag and went missing during a move. Only complaint was the slight rattle when I shook it.

I carry a Leatherman Micro on my keychain. In my glovebox I keep a stiletto-style folder.

Nice, the micra is handy as fuck. Which tool do you use most? I just cleaned and oiled mine last week and took a splinter out of the side of my hand with it.

I have another Kershaw it is the first one I bought before the one I now carry.
It gets incredibly sharp, sharper than the one I carry EDC. It is all metal and unfortunately it is a brick when clipped to your pocket.
It is made of some type of special carbon steel, and is also Hollow ground but has a clip point.
This thing is so easy to get sharp and is like a scalpel.
I wish I could comfortably carry it, but it is too goddamn heavy to the point of making you cinch up your belt because your pants are sagging.
So it remains in my hunting gear.
If your Kershaw had a rattle the screws were probably loose.
I've had to tighten mine already, Kershaw makes a tool specially for that. Under $20 on Amazon.

Its a toss up between the scissors & the knife blade. Those are the 2 most used. Mostly opening boxes & packages, cutting open packaging envelopes.
