I have learned that I either pay what is asked or don’t meet the provider. Paying less than she wants almost never ends well.

I agree but that wouldn’t have changed anything this time. She simply chose to manipulate. It should be understood for things like a bed. Or if I do counter , it should be said if you plan on changing expectations. She might work out for others , but this all left a bad taste for me. Had I just done the hour I think it would have still been a haggling session. Nice enough gal but she knew exactly what she was doing with our situation.
