The more insidious thing is the newer forms of brainwashing and conditioning they're going into - John Oliver's "Last Week Tonight" is a great example of it:
Most, if not all the segments are ~10 second sprays of "facts" or an argument followed immediately with a joke or over-the-top metaphor and then several seconds of canned audience laughter or applause. There's no time to really process the "facts" or the argument, only time to highlight the laughter.
The point isn't to deliver information, but to subconsciously condition the viewers to associate people or opinions that are in opposition to the chosen narrative with derisive laughter. and it does this ~20 second cycle 20-40 times, where a stimulus is presented and the response is queued, resulting in an essentially hypnotic effect.
And which party is selling out to corporations and blackmailing those corporations a la Jesse Jackson? "Give us some money and we won't come after you and call you racist" and it's working even better than BLM could have possibly imagined. Just ask the Co founder when you find her in one of her 4 homes in lilly White neighborhoods.
