This website is oriented towards promoting The Hobby, so lets all talk about gettingThe Hobby legalized. Right or Left, on this board, we can all agree on that!
This is the most Progressive-Liberal administration in years, more so than the Obama years I think. I am looking for a significant change in the way the Federal Government looks at sex work overall. I am hoping that there will be a move towards the sex work model of Canada, UK or Europe at the Federal level.

Bernie Sanders would support it.
Good luck. It's just not Republican women who want to keep prostitution illegal, its the "Feminist" (read ugly) Democratic women too.
The TV had a female comedian on saying "How come you never hear of DILFs? Dads I'd like to fuck? Because there aren't any." The audience laughed. She's an idiot. There are tons of women knocking themselves out to fuck a man in order to upgrade or pay a phone bill.
So give up essential freedoms to legalize play for pay? You don't need democrats to legalize the hobby. You just need the right republicans who don't want to run your lives.
Legal in some Nevada counties. Problem is that due to unique position (pun intended) of the brothels, prices are outrageous and service is poor. Don't know if widespread legalization would help that or just further foster (another pun).
Not entirely familiar with Canadian law, but is at least somewhat legal, I think with pimping restrictions. In any event, Toronto (very experienced there) and Montreal (would love to go) are hobbyist heavens. Truly beautiful young women and reasonable pricing.

Every time the government tries to "legalize" an activity the government ends up trying to control it ... and isolate the activity to a particular area .... in which pre-established activities are authorized .... then tax the shit out of it. The regulations would be overwhelmingly oppressive.
That's the conundrum. So are the current regulations and attitudes. At least in my locale, I blame the extreme religious right ( I'm an admitted atheist, so biased) who want to force their views on others.

My step daughter reports that she can buy w*** on the street for a lot cheaper than a dispensary. Edibles are preferred way to purchase.

I guess one can blame anyone ... for the laws we've had for decades, if not centuries, but I suspect those persons who could be correctly identified as "extreme religious right," do not account for enough votes to sway the minds of all the state legislators and Congressional members who pass those laws.
The "extreme religious right" have lost a lot of legal battles with respect to when and where they can exercise their "extreme religious" beliefs and ceremonies. Not much influence if one asks me.
My guess is these days there is more noise coming from the SocialistLiberal extremists who believe that everyone person who receives money in exchange for sex is a victim and being stripped of their rights.
I believe they call them sex slaves and insist the LE "help" them!
(The LE they want to defund!)
Your comment reminded me of an absolutely beautiful young land in the early skirt chasing history who was easily classified as "extreme religious" although I am not familiar with her politics. She was so religious she believed the bible told her she could not engage in sexual intercourse, but the bible said nothing that prohibited her from sucking a guy's cock, for which she developed an enthusiastic attitude and unmatched talent. I appreciated her Biblical interpretation immensely.
I bet most Hookers want it decriminalized, not legalized.
The rates would plummet and the background checks would also.
There never has been such a thing as "free pussy," but rates would fall in line with a meal and a few drinks along with a special event attendance. But I can recall when a burger and a soft drink was under a dollar! If they wanted something in the coke it ran about $5 most of which was for the guy getting it for you.
Sorry to offend, but my locale in Central MO used to be a hobby haven 25 yrs ago; LE pretty much turned a blind eye and I could easily add 2-300 notches to my belt yearly. Same "handlers" had operations a little south in the Bible Belt that attracted too much attention and it all crumbled. Votes didn't matter, perception and media exposure sufficed.

But a true conservative does not believe on forcing their views on anyone but their children. Your talking about fake conservatives while attacking real conservatives. Woodrow Wilson shut down Storyville in World War I, FDR made the brothels in Nevada off limits to the military, and Harry Reid pushed to make all prostitution in Nevada illegal.
