If you are in a college town, sign up while the semester is in session. The only time I had bad luck on SA was when I signed up just prior to Summer as the semester ended. Covid may make things harder this year though.

The scammers are pretty easy to identify. Just like with escorts, don't give money until you've met in person. For the meet and greet, pay for the coffee, lunch, dinner, etc., but don't pay for intimacy ahead of time.
