I think we probably have a new 18 year old millionaire named Nicholas Sandmann.


The Washington Post is the latest news organization to settle a defamation lawsuit launched by Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann over its botched coverage of a viral confrontation with a Native American elder that had portrayed the Kentucky teen as the aggressor.


CNN also settled with 6 more defendants to go. Hard to imagine that any of them will take it to trial and Sandmann will have 6 more paydays coming

I live in the area... kid comes from money or he wouldn't be going to that school. Probably lives in Park Hills.


He isn't a millionaire right now from this-- but he may be by the time the remainder of the suits shake out. I'm going to guess that after fees.. he got low 6 figure on this. I'm betting they settled for around a quarter mil. WaPo has almost limitless resources to have continued to fight if they sought much more than that. They'd have simply outwaited and outspent him had they gone for the gusto on the settlement.

How do you he isn’t a millionaire from these settlements? You’re guessing. I’m guessing he is. As far as I know, details of his retainer with his lawyers aren’t public. Neither are the settlements.
