I got intrested in trying a escort for the very first time a couple of weeks ago, started following the ads on backpage and found this website after goggling a phone number. It was intesting to read the reviews. So last night I finally called and tried and set up a morning meeting with Liz (even after reading her poor review) something about her little spinner body and dark hair still did it for me. Our meeting was suppose to be at 10:00 I live outside of Wichita so said said to call at 9:00 and get directions on where to meet. Of course she never answered. Ironic reading her ads "I dont flake out on appointments or show up on my own time. "

So I hit Eccie again and figured I better find a well review gal from Wichita, I picked Sweet Monique called her and set meeting close to her house, since I had no reference, we went back to her place. I was there for 20 min. and had a ok time. When leaving she said I owed her $200, I was very surpised after see her website where 1/2 hour was $150.00. I questioned her about it and all she could come up with was the website was wrong. Instead of doing the right thing, she just wanted to argue about the extra $50. Finally I said I would pay her that, but would leave not feeling good about this and would not be back.

I know why she did it, she saw a new customer in a fancy car and thought she could take advantage of it. I guess shame on me for not making the price really clear up front. After today I'm not sure this escort thing is for me. I guess my question are these things normal when dealing with gals?

regardless of city, if you book an appointment for an one hour and the fee is $200 but after 20 minutes you were done and left. then in my opinion, you still should leave a donation for the time you originally booked.

it is not a wichita thing or that particular provider; I would suspect you would have the same thing happen just about anywhere

I booked it for a 1/2 hour, we didnt talk about price over the phone, I saw on her website that 1/2 hour was $150.00 so that's what I was expecting to pay. I understand with what your saying and I agree 100%. But that was not the case here.

for me it seems to be not inline, any provider normally handles the donation before the session (and that too with a newbie) ...right? If so why the confusion between 1/2 hr vs hr (150 vs 200)?

It's best to handle the donation before the session but it shouldn't be necessary.

If the price on the web site says 1/2 hour is $150 and you request a half hour then you should be expected to pay $150. Stating the web site is wrong is BS.

However, since you did pay the additional $50 I would write a review stating that she upsells if you're not very careful.

Perhaps she got an extra $50 but it's not a very good long term business decision.

I have seen Monique many times over the past several years, always for an hour, always got the full amount of time, and always had a great visit. Not sure what went wrong here.

And vise-versa everything went smoothly she had a safe encounter the ad said 150 that's all she should have asked for. She was whining about 50 bucks when she possibly knew that a negative review could cost her $300 in lost business.

Im sure it would be a he said she said situation but she does have on her website if you discuss the donation/$ at anytime the date will be terminated.
I still think he could have come out a lot worse for a first timer with no ref's etc. 50 is a small price to pay for a newbie error IMO.

To, me the question is, "Was this an intentional up-sell, or just miscommunication?" We can probably all agree that an up-sell is wrong. The fact that the OP is a newbie who waited until the end of the session to make the donation could mean that he simply didn't communicate clearly to Monique that he wanted 1/2 hr session as per her website rate. But Monique's reaction to what her website currently lists as her rate ("The website is wrong") sounds duplicitous. Her then-current website gave a published rate and warned the hobbyist NOT to discuss rates, which he honored.

Hard to judge whether this was an up-sell or misunderstanding. The vouching for Monique's integrity by well-regarded hobbyists on this forum (Yes, even COG), would cause me to believe it was a lack of communication by a nervous newbie. Not his FAULT, just a lesson in the importance of being clear about what you want.

Allie: Some of us old timers have a gun with a hair trigger. For me, keeping the ole gun from discharging for more than a half hour while enjoying the look and touch of your sexy bod would require restraint of Herculean proportions. I made it very clear on the phone that I just wanted 1/2 hour, I didnt know if it was ok to talk about money over the phone, so we didnt. I think she saw me as a chance to make a little extra money and asked for $200. When I said that wasnt the rates on her website, it caught her off guard and she got arguementive, instead of just saying ok that will be fine. She went into "she didn't even know her website was still up and those rates are old"

Sweet N Little, it wasnt about the $50.00 Im not a cheapstake, hell I even stopped on the way and bought her $30.00 worth of fresh flowers for her apt. To me it was my first time doing something like this and I wanted to leave with a good feeling and possible be a regular customer. Instead I left with the feeling of being cheated.

Thanks for all the advise, I agree taking care of the $ upfront would be a good idea.

D n KS: I hope you didn't think I was suggesting this was your fault. My first reaction was that she saw a nervous newbie who was inexperienced with the process and decided to take advantage of your uncertainty by clipping you for an extra $50.

But the experience of other, well-respected hobbyists made me think twice. I'm guessing that by the time you came by, she may have totally forgotten you had asked for 1/2 hour, or maybe she just flaked out on that part of the conversation. Best practice would be to reiterate it at the beginning of the session, and put down the fee and excuse yourself to the bathroom. If she has a problem with what you put down, she can tell you up front.

My $.02
