Hey, I kinda like the idea of the media pointing spotlights on DAILY DEATH TICKERS! Maybe we should expand the idea to other social ills.

For instance, we could make all cable stations track minute-by-minute the number of Americans who die from drug overdoses/the opioid epidemic. That number is running at around 70,000 a year. Let's make all Americans stay in their homes until the number is cut in half.

Or how about if we force the media to provide a daily update on the murder epidemic in Chicago? Keep it right in front of everyone's eyes. We could tell every past and present employee of the City of Chicago that their pensions are frozen until the murder rate is cut in half.

See what I mean? The possibilities are endless. We could conquer lots of problems if the feckless media would just set up DAILY DEATH TICKERS to focus everyone's attention like it is doing with covid-19!
