Hmmm. Interesting. I guess I must be different but in the Hobby world the last thing I am looking for is a connection. I only care about looks and that’s all. It’s purely a physical and not an emotional act for me. For emotional connections it would have to be a real world lady that is only seeing me and not any other guy.

I understand your train of thought, but I think your view on the word “connection” is too black and white in this case. There are different types of connections. No one is looking to meet their future wife here. Lots of guys however are looking for GFE, ie a girlfriend experience, which requires the feeling of a connection. That’s just a really long way of saying most guys enjoy some IOP in a meeting.
