Governor Northum may be a pediatric neurosurgeon by training, but he made about as stupid of a remark as one could make when talking about abortion.

All people here is......”we allow the baby to be born, make it comfortable, and decide whether or not to kill it”. Just think how absolutely macabre that sounds to the average American.

Just about anything he says after that is falling on deaf ears.

The article goes on to say that nobody will abort a baby in the late 3D trimester. Really? As ignorant a many young women are, (as they have been taught), and as unscrupulous as many in the medical profession are, can you be sure of that.

This is 2019. We now are in a age where a brain dead 28 year old can get elected to Congress and hold an entire political party hostage with her asinine ideas.

Thank you - WTF - you quote a balanced article accurately exposing right wing hysteria over stupid mis-statements by Tran and the Governor of Virginia. BTW - he is a pediatric neurologist - different from neurosurgeon. And doubtless has plenty of experience seeing newborns with anomalies and syndromes - some lethal.
No physician will "kill" a newborn with anomalies. Babies are carefully evaluated and cared for to make a diagnosis, prognosis, and care plan. Most babies with anomalies are helped on to a productive life. Some with lethal anomalies - have a care plan made with the parents and in consultation with specialty care and hospital administration, and ethics committees. A few with lethal anomalies are give supportive care and made comfortable - and God directs the outcome.



No baby is ever killed at birth - this right wing hysteria.
