Default It's MLK Day

We honor a man who gave his life so that men and women would be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

A monumental concept.

here they have a march for MLK day

a march, and best not call it a parade

would that character rule the day as MLK wished

today however the mantra seems to be more we just have to kill off all the white males first

let us honor MLK for his stand for Non-Violence in the struggle for Equal Rights.

Equal rights and Equal Opportunity for All in America.

Unlike the DPST Plantation politics of special privileges for them and special outcome for their plantation groups

Agreed. Today we will have the usual Cadre of Poverty Pimps and Demagogues spouting their swill that will cover every topic from Reparations to Affirmative Action.

Dr King, along with Barbara Jordan, arguably one of the most intelligent orators of our time, stressed self reliance and hard work in conjunction with changing the attitudes of society concerning race relations.

In response, they got Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" programs that herded Blacks into government ghettos, destroyed their Familly structure, and caused the destruction of a rich culture of self reliance that was as much American as any.

A monumental concept,

I remember occasionally a sign on the back of an old Falcon stationwagon heading West(North actually at that point) on I10 in North San Antonio years ago .... his hair and hers were flowing out the open windows ..... and it said:

"Jesus is Coming Back and He is Pissed!"

Reverend King would be also..... PISSED!

I enjoyed listening to his sermons ... because that's what they were ... not only his flowing tone, but his substance. Like so many good men he was flawed, but he was valuable as a person and leader. He was a positive thinker and believed in this country and the U.S. people. He believed in God and the power of prayer.

is it better to have a standard and fail to always meet it or have none?

you see that's the difference between those on the right and those on the left

By the way, in Houston we have a long standing rivalry between two factions who each believe they should be in charge of the annual "Martin Luther King Jr Parade".

This rivalry has turned into sort of a joke in the Houston Metro Area. A few years ago, there was actually a court battle to decide who would have the prime parade route through Houston Streets.

I suppose one is "The Real Authentic MLK Parade" and the other "The Authentic Real MLK Parade".

Mayor Turner has tried to get the two factions together and honor Dr King with one Grand Parade, to no avail.

Actually, the Socialistic-Liberals aka "the Left" set their standards to meet their current status, which is becoming increasingly lower and lower. They have turned into a band of whning, bitching, wimpy loud mouths, who a fallen to the level of merely name-calling as a response in their discourse. Spoiled brats ALL!
