Best Burger in Omaha

Omaha is lacking in a "gourmet burger" joint, but there are some good burgers to be had. I had an awesome burger Sunday at Beacon Hills in Aksarben. Half price burgers there on Sunday. Dinker's Bar also has great burgers. Other options are Leadbelly's in Midtown Crossing or Louis M's Burger Lust in South O.

The Omaha newspaper reviewed local burger joints a few years back. The first review covered dive bar/casual burgers which is just my speed. https://www.omaha.com/go/dining/food...7a43b2370.html. I tried most of them and my favorite was Dinker’s, followed closely by Stella’s.

They had a subsequent review of gourmet burgers (https://www.omaha.com/go/dining/omav...fe8474573.html). Not my scene so I have not tried any of them.

Dinker's beats Stella's every day of the week, and twice on Tuesdays.

I'm not knocking Stella's, they make a good burger. Just sayin'.

I have heard good things about Burger Theory. Located on Cuming street near the ball park.

Seems like "best burger in Omaha?" will always get one of two responses:

Dinkers - total dive and great burgers
Stellas - slightly less dive and also great, seems like they used to be better in the past but maybe it's just me. One theory is they cleaned the griddle when they remodeled and it's never been the same.



Louis M's - also very good, a little more upscale than the first two, but not actually upscale.
Block 16 - Gastro Pub style, good but limited hours (lunch only except Saturday) and there's usually a long line.
Leadbelly - Gastro Pub style. Some very weird combos, but that's a plus if you're into it. For example, they have a burger served on a cinnamon bun which is a lot better than it sounds.
Burger Theory is okay, I didn't think it was anything special. The atmosphere is terrible...nothing but dozens of TVs. If you aren't there for sports viewing, I would pass on this one.
