The whole "Service/emotional support" animals is getting out of hand
Yeesh.. Who here heard of that incident down in Florida, where some woman tried to get an Emotional support PEACOCK onto a plane, then threw up a hissy fit when the airline said no?
Or the other woman who had an emotional support hamster, and after being told no, FLUSHED IT down a toilet (or tried to)??
IMO This insanity is getting too damn out of hand.. Places being sued cause they dared "ask what service the "SERVICE ANIMAL" Performs, making others too scared to even ask...
Where do you stand on the issue??
IMO IF you have the animal for a legitimate service connected disability, you shouldn't have a problem providing PROOF when asked for..

We need to give these snowflakes an emotional support Honey Badger, because Honey Badger don't care.
My opinion is that outside the home only dogs (with proper certification) should be allowed as an emotional/support animal.
Came across this interesting article on the subject:

This is why animals were enlisted for "emotional support" VVVVVV
Only an animal would tolerate it.

Exactly.
It's no longer acceptable to call bullshit, either.
It had to get to a pig shitting on the plane and a goddamn peacock before the airline could say, NO.
Does anyone know if there are any training programs for any other animals, that approved for that?
Pretty sure the peacock and pig are not trained....
It takes like 50k or something for training for real service dogs

Exactly. And what makes me laugh is the # of people out there, who seem to feel its OFFENSIVE/ILLEGAL for someone who runs a business, to DARE ask for proof of disability and what the service dog is used for, before accepting it AS a service animal..?!?!?
SO TO ME, by feeling that way, they are all AOK with people defrauding the system..

I've known some proper certification courses, but really hate that there are businesses out there who CATER TO ENCOURAGING people faking a disability/service need, just cause they want to take their pets all over, and SELL "service collars/shirts' etc, without ever once getting proof that the animal its for ACTUALLY IS a service animal....
TO ME those companies are encouraging fraud. AND SHOULD be shut the hell down.

That would be akin to shutting down the fake ID vendors at the flea market.

that's probably about right, and only dogs are suitable for seeing eye guides for the blind. only dogs have the right mix of size, intelligence and ability to be trained. these dogs have to begin training as puppies and it probably takes up to two years to fully train a dog as a seeing eye guide dog.
