I'm going to me in the Montour Falls/ Watkins Glen area in a couple of weeks. Any recommendations on some non hobby activities that I might want to get in to?

Hiking the falls only do it before you hit the wineries lol.

Thanks for the good ideas everybody. Im thinking of staying at Rosemarys Legacy B&B, because it seems like the only place near the falls where I can stay.

Default Montour/Watkins

I highly reccommend the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. The views are amazing from the bedroom, patio, dining, and lounge. If you're a high end drinker, they have a wide selection there ,as well. It's a safe bet if you are driving because everything is directly at hand. It's also downtown Watkins Glen, so if you need something, it's there.

A lot of boats aren't out yet due to the intense rains we have had....
The falls are strong and beautiful due to the same.

Kuma's - local country go-go
McHales - local small tcity go-go

Captain Bills -dinner cruise
Seneca lodge Watkins Glen-local Glen watering hole
The Watkins Glen Track has events http://www.theglen.com/Tickets-Event...-Calendar.aspx

Falls:
Buttermilk Falls - hike
Watkins Glen gorge-hike
(I would recommend walking the Watkins Glen gorge sober it gets slippery. Plan to get wet.)
Ithaca Falls- view
Taughannock Falls-view
Shequaga Falls, Montour Falls
http://www.gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/shequaga.shtml <-- several falls listed.

There are no less than 50 wineries around Seneca lake alone.

I agree with Elizabeth the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel is a great place. If you are into race cars stop in at the Racing Museum in Watkins Glenn about block off main street, setup like a small library it has a ton of information about the early days of car racing and how the race track developed. They even have the route of the original road races before the Glenn was built. At noon on day when there is no event for $35 bucks you can drive the track, even with a normal street car it is a fun thing to do, in a sports car it's as good as it gets (almost like sex).

Up the road from the Watkins Glen is Glenora winery and Inn, great place to stay too and their resturant has awesome food. Further north toward Geneva is Belhurst Castle, another historic restaurant and hotel.

To many things to do in the area to list and do in a couple of days especially during the summer.
