this is what happens when corrupt politicians get too greedy and get stuck with a white elephant they can't make money off of.

Donald originally owned the property, it was supposed to be something like Mar Lago. He couldn't get the necessary permits from the local officials. so, he ended up donating the land to the state which he got a $100 million tax write off.

Now the state can't fix the property up because they ran into bureaucratic hurdles and snafus.

Lets examine what a failure it is. Trump donated the land to the State of New York after he was unable to get the necessary permits to develop the property. Due to the current tax laws in New York Trump was able to write the property off as a business loss and clinched 100 million dollars in the process. The real losers are the New York Politicians. If they were smart they would utilize that land for something beneficial to the state of New York, like maybe turning it into a training facility for Law Enforcement. They wouldn't need any permits because it wouldn't be used for public usage, real-estate or a business.

It’s worth noting that over the years, New York state legislators have tried to have the park’s name changed to something less horrible, like Pete Seeger State Park or Peter Salem State Park, after an African-American Revolutionary War soldier who is believed by some historians to have been Muslim. Instead, it remains Donald J. Trump State Park and probably will for the foreseeable future, barring Trump’s inevitable impeachment and removal from office.
