Welcome to NOLA

Since it’s Christmas, go to Celebration in the Oaks at City Park...
Tour the river road plantations...and homes uptown.
Check out the Bywater area for great cafes and diners, but to me best restaurant is Mr. B’s Bistro on Royal St.

Other great local eat spots are: Domilise’s -Parkway Tavern-Liuzza’s by the Track

Have fun...!

You're talking about Crescent City Steaks. I never found them to be tasty at all.

However I do give deanies in the French Quarter Two Thumbs Up. Their food is very good for barbecued shrimp is off the chain. I eat there quite often. There's also

Louisiana Pizza Kitchen where you can get Gourmet Pizza on flatbread near the French Market on Barrack Street.

The Ruby Slipper is good for breakfast lunch and brunch, and also there is Camellia Grill that's open 24 hours a day for breakfast lunch brunch and dinner.

Ruby Slipper has great breakfasts. I have to agree. Their menu is different but off the wall good stuff.
I love Deanies also, but there will be a long wait for the evening meal.
If GW Finns is still open, it is fantastic for seafood. But Pricey.
Any of the Brennans places are great. Palace Cafe has Crabmeat Cheesecake. Doesn't sound good, but it is fantastic.
Commanders Palace is great, prices are up there, but service is second to none.
Dookey Chase(Spelling?) has good fried chicken and sides, all you can eat, buffet style. Tastes home cooked. I only ate lunch there.

Mothers is supposed to be great, but I find it hit and miss. Always a long wait. Service is just OK. Food can bee good today and not good tomorrow. I consider it a tourist trap type place.

Acme is another tourist trap type place. Long lines, food is ok.

Trenasse is one of my favorites for fantastic and affordable seafood.
You have to try the Crawfish Pie or the Crab Stack.
Once a week, they have an oyster special. But they have oysters every night when available.
They have around 5 or 6 specials every night.
There is a lot of bar action from 5 pm to 8 pm.

I also love the thin fried catfish platter at New ORleans Seafood and Hamburger. I am not a catfish fan, but I love theirs. It's the best I ever ate. Reasonable priced.
