Default The Senate tax bill eliminates the ACA individual mandate.

Trumps getting two birds with one stone:

Why? The House already voted to repeal the ACA earlier this year. The Senate surprisingly gave the House a gift. I doubt very much Ryan will now oppose it. There may be some wrangling over other issues. Such as when the corporate tax rate kicks in.

Why wasn't it in the House version? Ask the Speaker.

It keeps the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate. The House voted on a tax bill only. The Senate bill includes a provision to scrap the legal requirement that almost all Americans buy health insurance or pay a penalty. The House isn't touching that, which may lead to a showdown between the two chambers if they have to resolve their very different versions of the bill.

You want to bet? Check with the media to see what the odds are.

Trump asked for the elimination of the individual mandate. He will sign the bill with it in it.

I'm sorry you don't like the message.

FYI: Trump will sign it whether the elimination of the mandate is in there or not. Trump wants a tax bill to sign so he can beat the Liberal/Democrats over the head during next year as the elections approach. The mandate can be addressed separately.

I'm not saying the House will hold it up because it's in there, I just recall sufficient complaining before the House passed their version that they wanted a "clean tax bill" passed and not loaded with incidental nontax bullshit ... like the Senate did.

I don't have to consult the media .... I listened to the individuals in the House discussing it and their reasoning. And I don't bet on politics.

It really doesn't make a shit to me, and neither does ACA.

Now AssUp ... he probably is pissed the Senate is doing it ...

.. and he doesn't even know why he's pissed!!!

So tell me Bambino why would you be happy that the mandate might go away? I assume it’s not because it’s going to cause your health insurance cost to increase, could it just be because it’s called Obama Care and he isn’t white?

It is not a penalty, according to the SCOTUS, it is a tax. Therefore, revoking the individual mandate which also removes the TAX is in fact a tax reduction for individuals that choose to not participate in the health insurance market.

Yes and your point is?

You can call it whatever you want but without it insurance costs go up so eliminating it does more people harm and does good for nobody.

I guess at some point you will explain how eliminating the penalty-tax will increase "insurance costs" (and I "assume" you mean premiums to the consumer) .... since premiums and copays (deductibles) have been going up WITH IT!

But if you can't, that's fine, because the people you are parroting can't either! Some of us understand that. You could always call The View Ladies!

They know everything! Like you do.

It's actually a "tax reduction" for those persons who wish not to have health care coverage and would rather pay the "tax" which is annually much cheaper than the premiums they will have to pay.

What about the Pro-Choice you assholes keep pushing. If somebody doesn't want to purchase Health Insurance they shouldn't be required to pay a penalty, which is essentially what the individual mandate is.

Effectively there is no "mandate" currently. Remember Trump's EO.
