Just had an appointment for April Digm today and sat in the parking lot for over half an hour and no explanation of why she wasn't answering...

What's proper etiquette when you get a no show and what is it that you expect in return for time wasted?

Touché. But still, this was booked through paradigm. I don't expect agencies to behave like this.
And the other part of my question is what would you expect for proper compensation?

I know it sucks, but consider yourself lucky all you had wasted was your time.

I had 2 instances last month where both clients canceled last minute (one was about 20 minutes before and the other was about 5 minutes before).

Both of these were night appointments so by the time these guys canceled, my toddler was already at the babysitter and I was already at my incall, 30 miles from my house.

So not only did they waste hours of my time between showering, shaving, getting ready, packing my sons stuff up, dropping him off, driving 30 miles only to hear "sorry, I changed my mind", each of these incidents also cost me $50 bucks in baby sitter fees & $20 in gas.

As for what you should expect in return for time wasted, I'd say nothing. She has already shown herself as inconsiderate, so unless she offers a free session, I'd say forget she is alive and spend the money you were going to spend with her on a provider that will respect your time.

If it was through an agency, I'd say that's even worse. It's there job to notify you (even at the very last minute) if something has changed.

If they genuinely did not know she was not going to make it to the appointment, then they need to fire her ass unless she can produce some type of proof that she had an immediate emergency.

I know it may sound tough, but she is essentially an employee of the agency and should be treated as such.

I'd say the best you can expect is a possible discount with another provider from the agency. Of course I wouldn't expect the "make-up" provider to take the financial hit, whatever discount you receive should come 100% from the agencies cut.

But look at it this way... at least you didnt spend money and then have buyers remorse.... so in essence, you came out in the black, save for some frustration.....sorry that happened nonetheless.

BeeDub makes a good point. One time for me with that booker a whore had a radiator leak and "couldn't make it"

so she offered me 50 future discount. the bad part is that i was trying to see her before her summer off and i canceled business meeting in order to see her. cost me 1k in lost revenue.

yeah my choice and worth it for the fuck i wanted. but not worth it to sit and wait for nothing.

I had 2 this week. Do you hear me bitching and moaning about it? That's over 300 I lost out on. Not to mention what I could have done instead with that time.

It's funny to me that gents bitch so heartily about ns's, yet when we do in public, we are ostracized.

As Brooke said, be thankful all you lost was some of your time.

What BW and C1 said. I called out Mindy and Paradigm by name in this forum and didn't even get a "sorry" let alone a discount offer. Just move on. Dudes blow off appointments all the time, so there isn't a lot of good karma out there to begin with.
