To many people, the minute you see the word "Medicaid", that implies people want someone else to pay for what they are getting.

This part is funny.....

Quote:
With Obamacare (Affordable Care Act), now under threat of being repealed and replaced, .....
This nonsense is why Republicans need to let Obamacare bleed out and CNN headline that.

Then we can all remember the truth.

Edit: Likely the headline will read: "Republicans to blame for not repealing and replacing....."

Legalized Hookers = Small Business Owners = Tax Paying Citizens

While health coverage isn't an issue for me anymore, there are a lot of folks who can't afford health care insurance outside of their employment.

When you're an independent contractor or small business owner, the healthcare premiums can get costly.

When I signed up for insurance through the marketplace, my premium cost every bit of $350. Hell - I never went to the doctor either.

^^^^^ this.

Next the feds will want me to pay others' car insurance or flood insurance.

I'm tired of paying so much to the government in tax...then paying high obamacare rates to cover several families.

You are already paying the costs of public education. More importantly, you are paying for the expensive homes, cars and vacations of the politicians that you elect.

Unfortunately, you can't have a country without taxes and you certain can't run it without a bunch of rich people talking about the problems of the poor.

As the original poster I figured I'd give my two pennies. First off on insurance. The way insurance is structured nobody pays for their healthcare. People only pay a portion of it. In effect it is the healthy people on your blue cross that aren't using it who are paying the bulk of the cost for the people who do use it. Car or home or health, whatever. Say I have a five G deductible and my monthly cost is 4 hundred, and then I have open heart surgery and the bill is fifty grand. I don't pay fifty grand, I pay five thousand and thirty.
Next point, what does it matter if I use blue cross or a small company or if everyone pays into single payer through taxes. To me it doesn't. I'm still paying while I'm healthy and when I'm not I'm paying only a portion of the cost. Either I pay through my paycheck or out of pocket or through taxes it's still the same amount for the same product.
In summary I reiterate that nobody with insurance pays the full cost of healthcare.

That's cheap, I pay 4 times that. And at the end of the tax year I pay what is equivalent to 1 and half months gross receipts in taxes.

I wish that I could have a tax free income like a hooker. But I would go to jail.
