Default Best burner phone for texting?

As the title suggests I want to get a new burner phone. Flip phones plain suck for texting so I want to get something more friendly since so many providers prefer texts.

Being able to swype would be a big plus!

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Burner app, gives you a number for a couple of weeks for $2. You can have many numbers or keep one for longer.

I know a lot of us use sideline app. You can chose where your number is from. You can also turn the app off when you don't want to be bothered by providers. Best of all...the version I use is free. If you delete the app from your phone, you can reinstall, log in, and everything will still be there until you delete it.

Are those apps linked to your phone number and real world account?

Sideline does run off your current phones data and usage but I have no clue if it's linked to RW info.

Sideline does ask for a name and it forwards to your phone but the number doesn't link to anything you don't link it to.

Unless a function is turned off, google voice can index contact data on your phone. Thus folks do prefer other second phone # apps.

But Sarah,
What wireless system do we want for the headsets on the critters to help prevent Reindeer crash landings?

I use google voice. it works great for texting and also phone calls. You can get a number and download the app. Then you simply log into the app with your new number. It's secure and you can keep it out of your contacts by selecting no when asked.

Arrow T-Mobile option

T-mobile has a $3 per month flat rate plan that includes 30 minutes talk time or 30 texts. Additional minutes and texts are at the 10 cent rate.

I bought a burner and a card with minutes at a Best Buy and paid with cash. But I think any kiosk will work.

You can go into a T-Mobile store, but then they want to set you up as a customer. No thanks!

You can re-up your minutes with a credit card online, but that leaves a trail, of course.

There is a T-mobile app to track your minutes.

One thing that I dislike about T-mobile is that you don't get any warning when you are about to run out of credits. So, you can get cut off in mid-convo.
