Let’s get together for some fine wine tasting, some tasty dining and some warm, tasteful conversation. No messing around…. just a bunch of thirsty, hungry adults with some interesting things in common, getting together to drink some wine and eat dinner together. I have put a couple of these together and it’s really fun. We pick a BYOB restaurant (probably Italian) and we pick a good weeknight later this month. Those that want to come should put their handle and email on this thread showing your interest and I will do the rest. Bring some of your favorite wine and we will pass it around. No charge for the wine (and there will be plenty of it), the gentlemen will split the dinner tab (might cost you $20 or $30) and the ladies eat and drink free. It’s a great opportunity for the gentlemen to meet some ladies (female wine “lovers”) and also a great opportunity for the ladies to meet the most REFINED of all Hobbyists (Wine Connoisseurs). If you are interested in joining us, add your handle and email address to this thread and I will contact you. Requirements: You must be a male or a female and like wine. If a nice group comes together we will pick a night and do it.

Sounds like fun and a good way to try out some new wines but I really don't want to post my email address in a public forum. I will send it in a pm if that is ok.

An open invitation like this seems kind of indiscreet, or maybe I am just being blonde and have overlooked something in the original post?

Pearlman, I would be interested in attending but I agree with the 2 above if we have some type of screening.

I appreciate everyone's safety and will keep the final attendance list and email addresses, as well as the date and dinner location private and restricted to only those who are well known to us. I have plenty of friends here that can help me with screening the guest list. Maybe Marla and Lauren Lane would volunteer to help me with that? I will use only PM's and email for the final details.

Wine Loving Hobbyists and Providers:
Our Wine/Dinner date is set and it is coming soon. So far we have about 30 committed and quite a few "mayby's". The cut-off for invites will be this Sunday night, so if you want to come send me a pm and your email address, Lauren will get you screened and I will send you an invite. Those of you who have committed will be getting instructions on our location soon after that, so check your email. Looking forward to it.
